Wasn't sure whether to debate this within a thread or start a new one, but decided on latter.
Jelena's popularity means that she is always in demand & of course won the ACES race on the WTA Tour last year, for most work, appearances etc away from the court.
However to me, that is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it proves JJ's popularity (you don't need to tell us that!
). But on the other, is it holding her back, especially in the bigger tournaments - & grand slams?
She is leading the ACES again so far this year. However is that not symptematic of playing all the tournaments under the sun again? What happened to her cutting down to help her rest - again, a constant theme for Jelena is "tired", "exhausted" & other similar adjectives.
So should her entourage, including her coach (who may or may not be Sanchez again
) not take her aside & say that, whilst it's nice to be popular, it won't help her take the next step - something that all JJ fans want her to take & know she can, if only she'd stop flogging herself to death?
