Hey everyone! It's the end of another year, and despite JJ ending the year out of the top 20, it's been a pretty good year, with plenty of exciting matches from JJ. I decided to list my favorite matches so we could reminisce over these matches.
5. Guangzhou F: def. Allertova 6-2 6-0
Finally ended that title drought, and she played so well in this final with great serving.
4. Cincy SF: def. Pliskova 6-2 3-6 7-5
Great mental toughness, saving MP and down 5-2 in that final set! Amazing play in the first set and great serving in the third, outgrinding Plisko-bot.
3. IW R4: def. Bencic 6-3 3-6 6-3
Her first match of 2015 where she played at an elite level, exposed a lot of Bencic's weakness and I think the way she played in this match gave her the belief she could continue playing well through the rest of the season.
2. Hong Kong F: def. Kerber 3-6 7-6(4) 6-1
Got her revenge against Kerber, and had an amazing run in this tournament in general! Finally figured out her forehand at this part of the season, and was playing at a top 15 level consistently.
1. Wimbledon R3: def. Kvitova 3-6 7-5 6-4
Just amazing, I remember watching that match point live, and was so proud when she went for that final return. One of the happiest moments I've had as a JJ fan over the past 5+ years.
IW R2: def. Keys 5-7 6-4 6-3 - Showed awesome mental strength when she hadn't played a proper match in forever, and grinded out her way to a win
Rome R1: def. Giorgi 7-5 7-5 - Similar to above, she hadn't been on court in a while, but somehow figured out a way to win
Nanchang F: def. Chang 6-3 7-6(6) - PEAK vulturing
She saved a match point against Wicky as well. I'm just sad that out of all people she had to play against Aga at Wimbledon after beating Kvitova. Almost every single year the draw falls apart really quickly and this time she just had to be in a section with all seeds pulling trough .
She played so well at Wimbledon and that Ahole Umpire calls were terrible. I mean it was hot and they played +20 shots like every second point and he destroyed her with those time violations. She was in the match I believe 1-2 points broke the match towards Aga's favor. I'm sure she would've defeated Keys as well, not sure about Mug.
I mean she had 4 big tournaments this season IW, Wimby, Guangzhou and Hong Kong and played really good tennis there. She played a nice grass prep as well. I hope that 2016, especially the clay season be much better for her. ^^
I hope this last win against Errani will be a positive match moving forward towards 2016.
