Re: Paula Kania thread: "I will retire if I don't find a sponsor and move to Los Ange

Today I read about the "dramatic" statement of Paula that she will retire from professional tennis and start studying in university in Los Angeles if she doesn't find a sponsor until summer.

Seems like the redaction of TenisKlub who wrote a main article about this.

Well, it might actually be the best option for her...

Yeah... actually losing sets to Mikołajczuk, Nalborska, Cichoń and losing matches to Kołat, Zagórska says she's not in her best form right now.

If she had any successes she would have sponsor already... So good luck in LA.

Re: Paula Kania thread: "I will retire if I don't find a sponsor and move to Los Ange

She should have a minor sponsor as a Champion of Poland. Even Sobaszkiewicz has one.
And this year she was a runner-up in Indoor Championships, her team got a silver in Indoor Interclubs and she just got to the final of Amiens 10k in singles and doubles so there's still some chance to her I guess.

Re: Paula Kania thread: "I will retire if I don't find a sponsor and move to Los Ange

She won in doubles today with Basia Sobaszkiewicz, great job

I looked at the entry lists of some tournaments in late March and early April, but Paula doesn't appear after Gonesse next week. Maybe she will have a break (Matura soon, like Magda?)...

Yes, she will have matura but I think she may play in Tessenderlo 25k (indoor clay as well).

Paula defeated first seed, Anaďs Laurendon (WTA #205), 6-2 7-6(4) in Gonesse She will face Grymalska (does she have any Polish root, with such a name?) in quarterfinal.

Re: Paula Kania thread: "I will retire if I don't find a sponsor and move to Los Ange

Just brilliant!
This win should put her into WTA top400.

Grymalska has Ukrainian roots.
It's another Italian player - Nastassja Burnett (to whom Paula lost last week) who has Polish roots - her mother is Polish.
