Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

What are her chances of an Indian Wells or a Miami run? And by a run I mean to the QFs. She plays so poorly in these tournaments and its a great opportunity for ranking points.

Oh and she's leading Kvitova in this week's race to the YEC by 5 points.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

She would need a good draw because she will get a top 8 in R3 so it's not really that likely. Any win will be better than last year anyway that was abysmal

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

And Lucie is #8 in the doubles race. She and Hlavackova could get some good points in Indian Wells and Miami. It'd be cool to see her qualify for the YEC in doubles this year since it's a bigger draw.

Yeah let's hope she draws Radwanska in one of the tournaments. She plays really well against her. (4-1 h2h)

Good. It's about time that the YEC changed the doubles format. Four teams playing straight into the semifinal of a "year end championship" is a joke. They should have it as the same format as the singles, but I doubt there will be a round robin this year.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Oh and she's number 15 in doubles. This must be a high career rank for her in that field. *Sigh* I really wish Lucie had someone who dedicated their free time to her Wikipedia page. She has probably the worst one of anyone in the top 50.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

I updated her page once...but I'm too lazy to keep doing it.

She reached 15 a few weeks ago and it is her career high...reaching top 15 in doubles before singles

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Her IW draw is 2nd round Q or Wickmayer, 3rd round Halep is her seed.

It could obvs be worse but Wickmayer seems to have just recently found form again and obviously Halep is in her career best form...at least she has nothing to defend and no pressure

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Beat Wickmayer 6-3 6-4...never lost serve (4/4 BPs saved) 9 aces and only 1 DF...seems pretty solid!

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Lost 6-2 4-6 6-4 was up *3-2 and *4-3 40-30 in the 3rd set She just doesn't have it in these close matches against top players sometimes. Sometimes she does, but more often than not she gets in a winning position then blows it. And of course she lost it on a challenge...the ball was like 1mm out

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Played a really good match till the very end. Lost her concentration and nine points in a row, and then couldn't get herself back on track in that last game. She'll be frustrated by that match. Still, she's playing good tennis this year. With a better draw, she'll do damage in Miami.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

^^She hasn't got good draws all year. AO and here, top seeds have lost but not the one she has to play...so annoying
