Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Lucie

But still a successful tournament with QF and wins over Vinci and Stosur

Lucie plays so well indoors. How many of her matches in Tokyo were under closed roof ?

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

She was well capable of winning that match, but lost patience...

Oh well, a great couple of weeks! She's ending her year very nicely thankfully.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

She drew Stosur again in Beijing Round 1

Hilarious, 7-2 head to head but who knows...the conditions in Beijing suit Stosur more than Lucie I would say but like I said before their Tokyo R3, Lucie knows the tactic

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Sam will probably be swearing at this draw.

Lucie's quarter:

[8] Jankovic vs Pavlyuchenkova
Q vs Q
Barthel vs Q
Mladenovic vs [12]Suarez Navarro
[15]Stosur vs Safarova
Kanepi vs Goerges
Hsieh vs Kuznetsova
Petkovic vs [2]Azarenka

Just so you know: I'm better than you because my fave is better than your fave. Your fave is a bitch and a shrieking BBB. Or was it pusher? Who cares. She's a classless brat anyway. But don't you dare insult my fave, idiot.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

You never know though, all the matches are close. Lucie has to be on form to win. I hope she can but she'll definitely be a little tired

Of course she draws Sam! Stosur must be so annoyed. Lucie will go in with a lot of confidence at least.

So glad Lucy drew Blowsur. Always love cheap points.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Lucie won 75 63! Played really well actually. She is completely in Sam's head. I felt bad for Stosur, but Lucie played a smart match. And she struck that flat backhand crosscourt well when she needed. She looked very pleased with herself after the win. Onto the second round!

I feel bad for Sam as well, that was just a very unlucky draw for her. But great to see that Lucie keeps winning.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Yeah I was happy with how she played, she kept it relatively solid and struck the big shots when she has to, because even though she owns Stosur, Sam wasn't really playing that bad in their last 2 matches. She was striking her BH well so Lucie had to play pretty well to win. She definitely did that, hoping she can do the same against Kanepi. Kanepi is a huge hitter, but Lucie leads the head to head so we'll see if she can keep up the good form.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Couldn't get a win between Wimbledon and the USO, and has gone 10-2 since in singles, plus doubles wins as well. It's pretty random how her season has turned around because her coach is still useless.

Anyway, Kanepi match is last on centre court not before 9pm

GOAT works in mysterious ways.

I'm just so happy she's winning more lately.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Let's go Lucie! Keep up the good form. There are lots of points to be won here too, which would be really good for Australia. She's 34th in the race right now (33 really with Bartoli gone), so a couple more good results and she's seeded for the Australian Open. Not that a seed means much for Lucie at a slam, but still.
