Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

She probably didn't want to be embarrassed on court again. :/

In all seriousness, I hope everything is ok. I had a weird premonition back in February that she was going to have an injury this year. I laughed it off though.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Weird. Maybe a week of hard practice would be better than a discouraging first round loss? Or maybe she's injured... OR it could be off court problems we don't know about come to think of it. No point in speculating though.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Everyone's so enthusiastic now, we havent even considered opening a USO thread

She drew Tsurenko R1...Tsurenko only played 1 warmup match on hard court and retired hurt in it, in Washington. But Lucie is losing left right and centre so I expect nothing but a loss. If she won, she'd have Vinci

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Anna has been in horrible form this year, and will drop down to around #190 after her USO points come off....however, her standard of play has risen since May, and she plays well indoors...I think this could be tough for Lucie.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

If she could get a couple of wins under her belt, then more power to her for playing this tournament. She needs wins (even if she has to win ugly) to get that confidence. I think her playing really well against top player but still losing wouldn't do much to help her at this stage.
