In terms of movement yes, in that Jankovic match she was good but she was injured and she didn't really know how to move on grass. She also made a lot of errors in important moments, but it was a more important match...I guess she's just a different player now compared to then.

Nice win over Stosur, Lucie !

QF vs Hampton. Time for revenge. Come on

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Oooof. Not a good loss considering she was up a set and 5-3. But at least she got some good match play on grass.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Wimbledon draw is out

R1: Lauren Davis
R2: Hradecka or Knapp
R3: Sharapova

First 2 rounds are entirely winnable, Davis got thrashed by Pironkova in Birmingham, beat Hlavackova in Rosmalen and then got trounced by Muguruza in R2

and the R2 match would be winnable as well, even if you never know with Hradecka. Her goal should be R3 since there is basically no chance of going further, and that would be a win for her. I'm just hoping for a R1 win at this stage.

Anyone wanna make a a thread?

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Good draw for grass actually. I could see Lucie making the third round. And I don't think she will be psyched out since she hates grass to begin with, so she won't feel like there is a big opportunity that she can screw up like, say, Roland Garros.

I'm not touching any threads--still bitter about the Australian Open. How about someone who has never made a thread? Anyone left for that?

I think everyone has made one and she always loses early so everyone is bad luck

Should I try?

It would be my first one, maybe some good luck.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

Done! I hope she can at least win a match, otherwise you'll all hate me.

Btw I know I hardly ever post in here but I've been a huge Safarova fan for years. I still remember watching her beat Pennetta to win Gold Coast in 2006!

She really needs to win a title. Can't believe it's been five years.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2

(1)Safarova v Solovyeva
Kovinic v Konta
(wc)Lukacs v Martic
Honcova v (6)Scheepers

(4)Beck v Majeric
Woerle-Scheller v Hradecka
Meusburger v Van Uytvanck
Arruabarrena v (5)Larsson

(7)Torro-Flor v Bratchikova
Babos v Krunic
Zahlavova v (wc)Bukta
Karatantcheva v (3)Halep

(8)Tatishvili v (wc)Jani
Peer v Knoll
Cadantu v Mayr-Achleitner
Hlavackova v (2)Cornet

Budapest draw...I mean this draw wasn't ever gonna be too tough, good thing Halep is in the other half...I have a feeling she's lost to Martic in Budapest before, maybe 2009. And Scheepers is ok, and she had that huge battle with Konta that time But seriously, she needs to play with good form and just at least make a SF or F
