Lucka lost to Kuznetsova easily in two sets. All I can say about it is that she played absolutely brainless tennis. Kuznestova stayed solid which was enough to win.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

What the hell happens with Lucie the last weeks ? Can barely go further than the 1st or 2nd rounds of the recent tournaments she played : I know she struggle with injuries but yet, I'm concerned about her poor form...

These are rough times for fans of Lucie.

What can be done?

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Really not surprised.

She got a win though, that's what she needs. Lucie is a rhythm player, all she needs is a couple of breaks and a run in an event, and she will get her confidence and fitness back. I think it would be a good idea to give up the Tier I and II's for the time being, and instead play a couple of Tier IV's against weaker competition. We know she can beat the likes of Kuznetsova, it's just a matter of getting her match fitness back, then the rest will follow suit.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I agree. She needs to do some Tier IV tournaments. I think confidence right now is a big issue for Lucie.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I would like Lucie to implement a backhand slice into her game. Yesterday she had to hit two hander even when she found herself out of position and almost always netted it. Or maybe she just shouldn't try to play every shot as aggressively as she does. She attacks from every place on the court and that can't work unless she is in a perfect form and executes everything like she did in Paris last year. Of course I am no tennis coach but imo she currently is a pretty one-dimensional player. It's about her health again, we won't see much of an improvement unless she stays injury free so that she can practice and work on her game.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

This section is one of the easier ones, however in Lucka's current form every win would be a success.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I'm not even going to say good draw, because I'm too afraid I'll jinx her goodluck and we'll have an Australian Open repeat.

I'm not a pessimist, but I do believe that Lucie will lose very early. These big tournaments aren't good for her right now. All they will be are matches where she can maybe win a few matches and then face a big player, and she doesn't have enough self-confidence to pull of the upset.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I'm back from my trip& it was awesome
Didn't Lucie's results stink though Oh well I am back now Lucka....
One thing I am really happy about though is that Lucie played doubles in Doha. Maybe Lucie does listen Zvonareva is an awesome partner hopefully they can play together again. Playing doubles every now and then will be very good for Lucie's singles. But not every tournament I'm not sure physically Lucie could take that.

Good Luck in IW Lucie
