Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I saw the choke coming at 3-1, she had too much time to think ahead. She would've been better off had it got to 5-5 with no breaks, because she wouldn't have been thinking about the final and whatever else.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Still hard to swallow. The best thing Lucie can do now is win as many matches as she can in Cincinnati and just forget about today.

OMG At least she's finally Top 20. But this win was worth a lot of points.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

The Q she got in Cincy is Shvedova I dont think Lucie will like that matchup and she'll be tired from the week in Montreal so tbh I see her going out round 1. Maybe she'll prove us wrong

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

In the short-term, though, Steckley is working with Czech lefty Lucie Safarova.

No, her coach, Biljana Veselinovic, isn’t history. But she’s taking a little break and Steckley will support Safarova the next few weeks.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

About as NID a loss as you could expect to Shvedova, IMO. I expect she's heading to the top 30 before not too long and she'd already won matches in qualies. Add in the quick turnaround form the gut-wrenching loss to Na and there you go.

Great to see Lucie in the top 20 at last, just would like to see her pick up a few wins in New Haven.

Now I've finally found,

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Well, hopefully she can take solace in hew new ranking and use her good form to inspire her for the US Open. After last year's match that will not be mentioned she should be primed for some better results.
