Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Lucie's website has a 2012 Schedule up...

1st January

Brisbane (Australia)

Hard Court

08th January

Sydney (Australia)

Hard Court

16th January

Australian Open

Hard Court

13th February

Doha (Qatar)

Hard Court

20th February

Dubai (UAE)

Hard Court

07th March

Indian Wells (USA)

Hard Court

20th March

Miami (USA)

Hard Court

Interesting no Paris, and it also doesn't have KL which she made the final of, and I readn an article saying she would play there. So this might not be a full Schedule from January to March just yet.

Lucie Safarova, Anna-Lena Groenefeld, Agnieszka Radwanska

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

What was that Lucie? Weren't you serving for the match a while ago at 6-2 5-4 up? And I just knew she wouldn't hold at 5-6 in the third. Even when she had 40-15. But it was just cruel when the scoreboard suddenly jumped from 40-30 to match over. I was thinking, oh, she might hold and send it to a tb... oh she lost. Although knowing Lucie those three points could have been over in a flash.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

The scoreeline is so weird in the last, it jumped from 6-5* 15-40(Ace on second serve) to 30-40 then back to 15-30, 40-30, finally the match over. I think there should be some bad calls.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

What happened?
I saw the first set and start of the second and Lucie was on fire! Hitting winners at will. Iveta had nothing.
Then I went into PRA to see Kim's match and Lucie lost!
Lucie's inconsistency!!

Good Luck: Belgian & Czech Girls

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Apparently she was 6-2 4-1 up. And she had a 5-0 H2H with Iveta. I guess that nothing is a given with Lucie.

Some things never change.

But she was never up 6-2 *4-1. She was up 6-2 *5-4.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Well in the first set she played perfectly, then after she got broken at *2-1 she was totally rubbish and lost everything in her game, and it was awful to watch. So many basic errors off rally shots. Like 3 in a row to lose the last game. I was pretty disgusted tbh.

Yes, 6-2 5-4 serving was what I saw myself. Someone on GM said the 4-1. I shouldn't trust people in GM .

I guess the person in GM confused the score with 6-2 *2-1.

Those basic errors sound about right. She can play great tennis and obviously did in the first set. Did Iveta change her game to put Lucie off or did you think it was entirely Lucie's doing?

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

What a horrible way to begin 2012. I'm disappointed. Thank God she entered Sydney. She has third round points to defend in Australia and from the looks of it that could be a real challenge for her.

Thank You, Kim

It was Lucie. The main problem was the *2-1 game. She got lazy in it and Iveta got her head back in the game...she did improve but Lucie's level dropped so much. In the first set she was hitting her backhand so well, non stop winners down the line. After the choke, she lost her backhand and it was a mess...and her forehand then went with it.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

So her backhand and return are not improved? I just hope she can address all her problems during the off season but seems impossible now.
