Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I was just reading that I'm really annoyed by it! Because they have such a great chance to make the final, it would be great if Lucie was part of that. Now she needs to get better for the clay season

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I found this:

Quote:
“I decided to call up Lucie Hradecka because the doctors said (Safarova) would not be 100 percent for Saturday,” Czech captain Petr Pala said.
from here http://wtawomenstennis.com/2011/04/f...al-vs-belgium/

so by the sounds of that it is not too serious, just another one of her strains that takes a few days but she can still play with similar to the one she did in Brisbane, just at a really bad time. She always seems to be straining her Hamstrings and hip muscles!

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

(3)Francesca Schiavone (ITA) v BYE
Qualifier v Agnieszka Radwanska (POL)
(wc)Kristina Barrois (GER) v Lucie Safarova (CZE)
Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL) v (8)Marion Bartoli (FRA)

If she isn't injured, it's not a terrible draw...She just beat Barrois recently. Even though it was a tough match, she still can keep that in mind, and on clay she is more effective than Barrois...2nd round tough but also winnable, if she isn't injured.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Just got trashed by Barrois 6-1 6-4. No clue why she played here, obviously still injured.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

The second set was quite OK though (up to 4:4 she was winning her service games easily, while Barrois´ service games were much closer -- and at 4:3 up she had a break point on Barrois´serve).

GL next time.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I did wonder whether Lucie's paricipation was in jepoardy because of not playing in fed cup, and was confused to see she was in the draw. I'd much rather she had lost her points not playing in Stuttgart and resting up to play better in Barcelona with points to be gained.
Still, it's a shame she was injured because her draw was generous for a premier.

Anyway I'm glad the Czechs won in Lucie's absence, a good achievement win or lose the final. I hope she's not injured again by then though.

Now I've finally found,

Wish she wouldn't have played here while injured. Better take time to let it heal and take any risks.

Hope she feels better soon

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I've just accepted the fact her thigh is permanently injured and it will be the thing that kept her from ever moving her career forward. Shame.
