Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

The czech's are in the semi's now

also, this is the Paris draw. http://twitpic.com/3x2rb0

Lucie isn't seeded because of wildcards, and she's in the most awful part of the draw. Q in the first round is ok, but could be tough, but then Petrova, then Clijsters. Ridiculous never gonna defend her points now.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

Lucie retired in the match against Cepelova. She was playing poorly but did not think she was injured.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

She's fine same leg strain as before, there was just no need for her to fight for a 3rd set and do actual damage to the injury. She should never have played this match.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

She is also playing doubles with Petra next week, does anyone know if they have played together before?

Fed Cup / Paris

Lucie played doubles with Petra Kvitová at the Běijīng 2008 Olympics (the less said about that, the better ).

I'm pleased to hear that Lucie's retirement was purely precautionary, as she prepares to defend her Paris final with a nightmare-draw ahead of her.

My Eternal Fanship: 1. Monica Seles; 2. Мария Шарапова (‘Maria Sharapova’); 3. Daniela Hantuchová; 4. Jelena Dokić; 5. Iva Majoli; 6. Karina Habšudová; 7. Вера Звонарёва (‘Vera Zvonarëva’); 8. Nicole Vaidišová; 9. Анна Чакветадзе (‘Anna Chakvetadze’); 10. Lucie Šafářová; 11. Ирода Туляганова (‘Iroda Tulyaganova’); 12. Magdaléna Rybáriková; 13. Sabine Lisicki

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I don't understand the decision to play Lucie in the first place, but she did the sensible thing in the end.
That is an unbelievably harsh draw, but then I guess she'd have to beat those calibre of players later on anyway to make the final/take the title; similar to 2007.
Look out doubles draw if Lucie/Petra play, some hard balls getting beat around the court

Now I've finally found,
All my friends are in the clouds

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread

I have no clue why she played I wanted her to withdraw from the moment I saw her playing.

The Paris draw is terrible I'll be happy if she can make the QF.

Well if there is any tournament where draws are not a problem for Lucie, it is Paris!
