One player at PAW RG requested a WC on the PAW commitments thread, rather than asking for a WC on the PAW RG tournament thread. When I noticed his/her picks on the tournament thread, I immediately sent the player a pm to tell him/her to request a WC on the tournament thread. Unfortunately, the WC was requested over 24 hours later on the tournament thread after the majority of the matches had been completed. To date, I have not counted those picks because the WC request on the tournament thread was made after completion of these matches. However, the player has requested (via pm) that I should count his/her picks because the initial WC request on the commitments thread was made before the matches started.
The PAW rules for WC requests are as follows:-
19. Wildcards (WC):
If you fail to commit to a PAW tounament before the commitment deadline, then you may ask the PAW Manager for a Wildcard by posting a 'WC request' on that particular PAW tournament thread. NB.
The number of Wildcards is limited to 5 per tournament. Also, a player may only receive a maximum of 2 Wildcards per calendar year.
If a player posts PAW picks without a commitment or a WC request, then the picks will not be valid until a WC request has been made. Therefore, any previously posted picks will only become valid after the WC has been granted.
Also, post #1 of every PAW Commitments thread states:-
If you missed the deadline and want to play, you have to ask for wild-card from the tournament manager on the PAW thread at the forum of the tournament in question (not here please!).
Therefore, should I allow the picks to count or not?
