PAW Fed Cup 1/4 Finals, 1/2 Finals & Play Offs Committment Thread

Hey PAWers

Please committ for the Quarter Finals/Semi Finals and Play Offs (to be played 9th-10th July)

Quarter Finals (9th July):

Indonesia (1)............. v ............ Canada (6)
Germany (7)............... v ............ Great Britain (4)
Bulgaria (3).............. v ............ Israel (8)
USA ...................... v ............ Poland

Semi-Finals wil be played on the 10th July.

Play-Offs:

The draw is due to be made, but the following countries are participating, so please committ:

Hong Kong
Argentina
Thailand
Serbia & Montenegro
Russia
Brazil
Singapore
Australia
Paraguay
Portugal
South Africa
Croatia
Malaysia
Italy
Netherlands
France

Each country must have at least 2 committments in order to enter, and you must decide between yourselves who your captain is.

Please committ by 8th July at the very latest and choose your captains as soon as possible.

Next year there will be a World Group 2. Therefore the system will work like this:

The 4 countries who win the 2005 World Group Quarter-Finals will automatically qualify for the 2006 World Group. The 4 losing countries in the quarter-finals will play-off for a place in the 2006 World Group against the 4 countries who win their 2nd round of play-offs (17th-18th September).

The Play-Offs will have 2 rounds (Round 1 on 9th July, Round 2 on 10th July)and the finals on 17th-18th September.

The Round 1 Winners will play in Round 2, the round 2 winners will face the losing quarter-finalists of the 2005 World Group. The 4 winners from the play-off finals will be rewarded with the 4 vacant places in the 2006 World Group. The 4 losing countries from these matches will qualify for the 2006 World Group 2.

The 4 losing countries of the round 2 play-offs will also qualify for the 2006 World Group 2. The losing countries of the round 1 play-offs will be relegated to Zone 1 in 2006.

Simplified:

2006 World Group 1

The 4 semi-finalists of the 2005 World Group + The 4 winners from the 2005 play-off finals.

2006 World Group 2

The 4 losing countries from the 2005 play-off finals + The 4 losing countries from the 2nd round play-offs.

Zone 1

The 8 losing countries from the 2005 Zone 1 division + the 8 losing countries from the 2005 1st round play-offs.

I'm second for Israel if they'll have me.
i'm having mediocre results as of late - but my Fed-cup performance earlier this year was one of the best from any nation :beggingtoplay:
good luck evryone - we have a very hard tie but I hope we win it.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.
