3 more players have qualified for YEC !

I tried to make out who allready qualified for the YEC. I used the current race ranking, and looked at commitments for the remaining tournaments. As I don't have all the data for everybody, I assumed players 17th, 16th and 15th result to be equal. By doing so I overestimated everybody's points, but that doesn't change anything for the players who qualified (they were above those overestimated points). It is however possible more players have mathematicly qualified, but I can't be sure of that.

So far the introduction, now the results I found:

With only 3 weeks to go, only 2 players have allready booked their place in the YEC. For the remaining 14 spots, there are 80 candidates left. However, after this weeks tournament in Zurich (the last Tier I of the season), the number of candidates will most likely be around 35.

There is off course a big difference between a mathematicaly chance of qualifying, and a realistic chance. I think one needs about 850-900 points (after this week) to have a shot. This would give anyone within the top 58 who manages to win Zurich a shot at the YEC.

Mathematicly certain of qualifying
1. Hantuchov
2. WTA Handicapper
Allmost certain to qualify
3. mypapa_je
4. bbypk
5. K&J fan

The rest of the current top 16 is only seperated by a mere 90 points, meaning anyone who failes to get some good results, could miss the YEC.
Verry good chance to qualify
6. sandg
7. spencercarlos
8. bionic71
9. Je_ne_sais_quoi
10. Geoffry
11. SpikeyAidanm
12. kafelek

That's it for now. I hope to keep you all up to date during the next weeks.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

After 3 days in Zurich things are looking good for mypapa_je, K&J fan and bbypk. If the final league table is the same as the curent league table they all qualify.
They most probably make it, unless a payer ranked just outside the top 16 in the race wins this tournament, so they better hope saab95 doesn't win.
Sandg could also book his place in the YEC this week, but he will have to gain some places to be sure.

Next update to follow in a few days.

3 more players qualify for YEC

After last weeks tournament in Zurich, 3 more players qualified for the YEC. Surprisingly enough, K&J fan, who was ranked 5th before Zurich, and who only needed to gain about 15 points to qualify, isn't one of them.

Mathematicly certain of qualifying
1. Hantuchov
2. WTA Handicapper
3. Sandg
4. mypapa_je
5. bbypk
Allmost certain to qualify
6. K&J fan

The rest of the current top 16 is still only seperated by less than 100 points, but I think everybody up untill Geoffry, who is 60 points ahead of 17th place, is very likely to qualify.
Verry good chance to qualify
7. kimclijsters4ever
8. spencercarlos
9. bionic71
10. Je_ne_sais_quoi
11. Geoffry

The rest of the current top 16 should keep a close look to Pintaled and andrew_uk, who are really close to 16th place.

Theoraticly, the top 41 still has a chance of qualifying, but this only is the case if they have commited to both Linz and Philadelphia. For those who commited to Luxembourg and Quebec, a place in the current top 30 is necessary for a mathematical chance of qualifying.
