3 more players have qualified for YEC !
I tried to make out who allready qualified for the YEC. I used the current race ranking, and looked at commitments for the remaining tournaments. As I don't have all the data for everybody, I assumed players 17th, 16th and 15th result to be equal. By doing so I overestimated everybody's points, but that doesn't change anything for the players who qualified (they were above those overestimated points). It is however possible more players have mathematicly qualified, but I can't be sure of that.
So far the introduction, now the results I found:
With only 3 weeks to go, only 2 players have allready booked their place in the YEC. For the remaining 14 spots, there are 80 candidates left. However, after this weeks tournament in Zurich (the last Tier I of the season), the number of candidates will most likely be around 35.
There is off course a big difference between a mathematicaly chance of qualifying, and a realistic chance. I think one needs about 850-900 points (after this week) to have a shot. This would give anyone within the top 58 who manages to win Zurich a shot at the YEC.
Mathematicly certain of qualifying
2. WTA Handicapper
Allmost certain to qualify
5. K&J fan
The rest of the current top 16 is only seperated by a mere 90 points, meaning anyone who failes to get some good results, could miss the YEC.
Verry good chance to qualify
That's it for now. I hope to keep you all up to date during the next weeks.
: Gold Coast 04
: Hasselt 04, Tashkent 04
