After the first trials and the 2010 Winter Olympics, the blackjack game is back with a whole tour on its own for the 7th season! :D

It's down to the simple task of scoring 21 picking 2 players in the main draw of each WTA Tour event. Each tournament will have a winner on its own and will be considered for the ranking.

First week: Brisbane, Auckland and Shenzhen! :bounce:

The 2017 Tennis Poker Blackjack Tour

Basic rules!

The aim of a Tennis Poker blackjack player is to score 21 picking 2 tennis players, which will represent your hand of 2 cards.

Card values are assigned in the exact same way of Tennis Poker tournaments: Ace to the winner, King to the runner-up, Q and J to the semifinalists...

In blackjack games:
Cards from 2 to 10 keep their own value.
J, Q and K are also worth 10.
Aces are counted as 11.

In this game, with these values, you don't run the risk to "bust" (going over 21) with only 2 cards. In the real game Aces can also be valued 1 in case of need, but it's useless in this case: the hit/stand choice, which is actually the real issue in blackjack, has been eliminated, together with any other strategy element such as bet, insurance, double down, split...

You just need to pick 2 tennis players in each draw, hoping they're going to advance as much as possible in the tournament.

You are allowed to add some back-up picks in case of a withdrawal. If you don’t, your spare card will be the new seeded player or the lucky loser who replaces your pick in the draw. Retirements during the tournament count as a regular match.

Original rules about beating the dealer, additional features for the winter sports and Tennis Poker hand tie-breakers have been eliminated: you are playing against the other posters and the one with the best score will win the title!

Tie-breakers:

1 – If 2 posters have the same score, the hand with the highest card wins (For example, 8 / 5 beats 7 / 6).

2 – If 2 posters have the same score and the same cards, the winner is decided considering the players who have beaten your picks (For example, a pick losing in the first round to the eventual winner will be considered better than a pick losing in the first round to an eventual quarterfinalist).

3 – If 2 posters have the same picks, the winner will be the one with the best TB player.

TB players are assigned at the beginning of the tournament according to each poster’s position in the ranking last issue (for example, the poster ranked #2 will get the second seed). If a player withdraws before the main draw play start and seeds are moved in the draw, TB players will be re-arranged according to the effective entry list; if the withdrawal takes place after the start and the player is substituted by a lucky loser, it will be done the same for the TB player.
If 2 TB players end up with the same score, the winner is decided considering the players they have lost to: a TB player beaten by the eventual winner is considered better than a TB player who loses to an eventual quarterfinalist.

Sign up! :D

Good luck! :bounce:
