You knows whats ridiculous. I actually think the Serena fans are more gracious in defeat than the Sharapova fans lol.

Apologies to those Sharapova fans who are also fans here.

I think all she needed to do was prove to herself that she could do it again and she did.

They like Vika because she beats Maria occasionally, tbh.

Did Vika just beat Serena!? So happy, it almost feels better than repeating Australian Open.

Fantastic play today; stayed focused and determined. So fucking proud

This win is groundbreaking for Vika, that third set was some of the best tennis she's ever played. Wow, I'm at a loss of words for how much pride, love and admiration I have for Vika. Amazing win, one that we'll all cherish for a long time no doubt.

SHE'S DONE IT!!!! Best win of her career so far?

Should have added. AMAZING win . I said post-AO that hopefully Vika gets to play Serena in the upcoming events. That could be a huge win mentally for Vika .

Hmm, a lot of maria fans get baited and taunted, I'm sure you guys can sympathise But overall I agree, there are a few things said from both sides which just add to the animosity.

This so much They call her the Princess and the heir apparent.

Anyways, I still feel like this is some sort of dream. Yes Serena wasn't 100% but neither was Vika, hopefully this should give Vika a boost and she'll be able to use it to find her peak form and maybe even do better in the clay season

Yeah, I think that was mentally hugely important victory for the whole season...now Vika knows that Serena can be beaten in forthcoming finals too......let the Victorian Age continue......
