Sorry, couldn't resist

Really surprised Vika managed to win this one. I didn't see it coming after her first few matches and all the stupid drama surrounding her injury. Such a tough girl.

I'm proud of how she dealt with this whole situation.

Congratulations, Vika

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

Her detractors are mostly 1) Radwanska fans, knowing well she will most likely never win a slam hence bitterness, 2) Sharapova fans who are as usual very bitter when Vika has success and 3) some fans of players who've gone downhill while Vika's going up.

Agree, also I think this title means even more than last year's even though her run was not as impressive as it was then

Sam Sumyk is so mad

http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/Actuali...la-tete/345591

basically he is really happy and mainly relieved because that fortnight has been tough to deal with as Vika was not playing well, etc etc, especially the last two day for obvious reasons. He says the medias were just bored so they needed a new victim.
Then he says he doesn't care about "fucking idiots, that might sound harsh but that's what it is.". Apparently Vika spent the whole day yesterday talking about it and they are all solid, and all but Sumyk won't forget a few names.

Elina Svitolina will PEAK in 2016

Sam. He knows what's up. Part of me really believes he's one of the main factors Vika got through today.

In the video of her going to her box after winning, he's the one saying over and over again "you deserve it; you're a champion". And that she is. Lord have mercy, she's a mother fucking champion to go through all she's had to in the last 48 hours alone.

I'm sorry for posting late today, I left for work at 4am and the score ws 4-6, 3-1 and Na had just rolled her ankle. I got to work and my phone went all crazy. I couldn't dial out, send text messages or get on the internet and I was DYING. I ended up calling my best friend at 6am asking her what the score was and started crying when she told me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Vika is hated because she's a threat to the establishment. She's not the American Legend like Serena, the Grand Dame like Venus, or the icon like Pova. She's simply Vika. She's moody, intense, emotional, notorious, and honest. She's a real kid who's in her early 20s doing her own thing. She's never going to be a media darling but I'm willing to bet if she stays healthy, keeps winning, and keeps being herself without any more crazy, stupid controversy, she'll be fully respected one day.

Nothing says fuck you to the haters like snatchin' their weaves!

But also, it's players like Vika that show the trash and class in GM. Amongst so much hate, there are those who wish her well and are proud of her. If I could PM every last one of them thanking them for their support, I would.

I totally agree !
Her team must mean a lot to Vika, they truly helped her

I've been rooting for Kuznetsova and Li, but never against Vika. When she won against them, I was pretty happy as well I will never support anyone like I support Murray and supported Henin I think. So... yeah well, I was really happy, I am so glad and proud to see Vichka at that point I remember her from 2006-2007 when she became one of my faves.

Last year, it was truly a great win, with a great tennis level displayed, it was a pure demolition.
This year ? Yes, Vika has played dire, yes she has looked less fit, yes she has looked more emotional, yes she has seemed all over the place.

But she ends up winning the AO , and defending a title for the first time in her career in such tough mental conditions !

So that was a real win with a great mental stregth displayed And I think, that's also what makes a true champion.
