Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

This is so deceiving... I'm thoroughly disgusted... so much bad luck, really, but I hope Victoria will recuperate well and will be 100% for the hard-courts. She can really finish the season very strong considering she's played by bits; IDK.

As for Wimbledon, well it's over for me as far as the women are concerned. Unless, only if Eugénie stays a little bit longer somehow... anyways, take care Victoria.

Beyond The Baseline ‏@SI_BTBaseline
Azarenka: MRI showed no tear but "it was just very significant fall. To recover in 2 days after that seems impossible."

Ben Rothenberg ‏@BenRothenberg
Victoria Azarenka says her knee injury was diagnosed as a bone bruise. "Very, very frustrating. I couldn't be more disappointed."

Beyond The Baseline ‏@SI_BTBaseline
Azarenka says courts more slippery this year. "The court was not in a very good condition that day…IDK if it's the court or the weather."

Just so you know: I'm better than you because my fave is better than your fave. Your fave is a bitch and a shrieking BBB. Or was it pusher? Who cares. She's a classless brat anyway. But don't you dare insult my fave, idiot.

BBC claim the courts are more slippery due to increased humidity this year.

Hopefully the scan was right. Sam seems to want another one done.

It's not surprising the inflammation is worse today than yesterday as once it starts you can't do too much about it

If it's really only that (bad enough) missing Wimbledon is only a minor evil.

She just did an interview with ESPN, sounds like she'd been crying.
She also said there wasn't anything in her situation that could have prevented the fall.

How long to bone bruises take to heal?

Azarenka said: 'It was slippery out there on Monday - and obviously I slipped.
'I think that (the condition of the courts) is something that could be looked into.
'I don't think it was in a good condition. I fell badly, my opponent fell twice.
'It would be great if someone who was responsible for these things looked at it because there's nothing that I did wrong to cause me to slip.'

Sch disappointing news. It's going to be hard for me to stay interested in this tournament now.

Wimbledon means nothing to me without her. Now we can only await the re-scanning result patiently.
Damn it.
For the haters I dont wanna say more.
She will be a cheater again if go on and now her pulling out is a retribution.
Fuck them all.

The interview was heartbreaking.
So another 2 months.
I doubt she will get time to prepare for us open. So sad.

I think she has a point. Players are just slipping and tripping all over the place this year, many of them getting injured in the process. Things like this are more likely to happen on grass than on any other surface, but this is getting ridiculous.

Confusion will be my epitaph

I think Vika's original tour schedule after Wimbledon was supposed to be Carlsbad (WTA Premier Southern California Open, July 29 - August 4) , Cincinnati (WTA Premier 5 Western and Southern Open, August 12 - August 18) and the US Open (August 26 - September 7). About one month to Carlsbad, and two months to the US Open. Hopefully she will be fully recovered for the matches in Flushing Meadows. I think she will be #3 seed there.

Now that Vika can't play in Wimbledon, it is really frustrating to follow this tournament. I guess we just have to wait for her recovery, and maybe there will be some good matches and major upsets left in Wimbledon 2013. But it surely it doesn't feel the same without Vika...

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

more on bone bruises.

Bone bruises are painful injuries to the bone in which your bone hits a hard surface and results in tiny fractures in the outer layer of the bone, called the cortex. Not identifiable by an X-ray as it is not a true break, a bone bruise typically does not encompass any swelling or bumps that a typical bruise would cause, but boy, do bone bruises take a long time to heal!
A bone bruise typically occurs when your bone hits something that is hard enough to "crack" the outer layer of your bone. Now your body is responsible for repairing the tiny fractures, which can take a long time. The bone consists of several layers of fibers that appear to criss-cross with one another to form solid bone. When a bone bruise occurs, not only does your body have to remove the damaged fiber, but the leaking calcium from the area of the bone that is damaged as well, and start all over. This is why a bone bruise can take so long to heal. It can take days, weeks, and often months for your body to fully repair a bone bruise and rebuild all that was damaged.
