Happy Vika is in the QFs again, and she'll get a good opponent either way next round. I'd love to see Vika finally beat Kvitova again.

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

I like that she is focused since the first match. She always builds better momentum from it rather than starting bad and play into form. I re-watched the first round. Everything is spot on, hitting clearly the ball. The only improvement is to close out the set quickly. Took 5 set points in the first. The match point was easy as Julia was so dis spirited that age practically handed that over. Too bad there was no stream today but she observed energy from here onwards. She might have a chance in Rome.

I am just guessing the more you want her to play Petra, like want her to play Caroline, am afraid he might just not get there to play vika. Haha.

Btw, nadal-gulbis, what a marathon right now

To reply to myself, 3 games i would say is not much problem. Great!

As soon as i saw that journalist Cronin predict Vika would have a tough first round against Goerges, i was calm. He is almost always wrong.

Vika vs Samantha Stosur is 3rd on, not before 4pm CET on the supertennis arena tomorrow.

Vika's opponent in the quarterfinal is NOT Petra Kvitova, but Samantha Stosur. Vika's head-to-head statistics with Sam is 7-0! Their latest match was a US Open quarterfinal in 2012.

Was hoping for Kvitova. Vika should win comfortably if she plays like she did on wednesday.

First meeting on clay which could make it interesting. Good luck.

Just so you know: I'm better than you because my fave is better than your fave. Your fave is a bitch and a shrieking BBB. Or was it pusher? Who cares. She's a classless brat anyway. But don't you dare insult my fave, idiot.

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

I wouldn't count out Stosur... this is their first match on clay, she gave Victoria a great match [scare] in their US Open encounter and Stosur has really made a great job recently of giving her diverse nemesis troubles [Sharapova (Stuttgart), Petra (Fed cup, Rome...) etc.]

Stosur is a far more superior clay-courter than Petra and after all this is the kind of opposition Victoria needs right now, 1-2 weeks (?) away from Roland Garros, hope it'll be a good competitive match. And Victoria is playing great.

Considering Stosur is merely just back, so yeah, probably Victoria will take this one in straights.

Stosur really wasn't that impressive today. The match was pretty poor standard. Stosur's backhand looked very poor, Vika should be able to expose that.

I think she would have won against Kvitova as well, but against Stosur i'm more certain it is just a question if Vika plays well or not.

I think so. Her backhand looked like a hole at times and she was in general erratic, but it doesn't take that much to beat Petra these days, I always thought Sam was going to win this anyway. Vika should take advantage of all the flaws in Sam's game.

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

So, tomorrow there should be live streams available for all the quarterfinals: S. Williams vs Suarez Navarro (12:00 CET), Jankovic vs Halep (14:00 CET), Azarenka vs Stosur (16:00 CET) and Sharapova vs Errani (19:30 CET). http://www.streamhunter.eu/tennis-li...ing-video.html

For some reason Azarenka vs Wozniacki or Azarenka vs Kvitova seems to never happen in 2012 and 2013, but at least the old Archrival is looming again in semifinals. It's hard to believe that Sara Errani could stop her.

Hopefully Vika will be focuced and patient enough against Sam Stosur, and keeps her head-to-head record clean....

Interesting how she played against Morita. Where are any italian fans who watched this match?

Yes, her backhand was awful, but sometimes her forehand was pretty well. And she is always confident with playing at the net.

Yes, if their meetings come on hard. Because Vika destroy all Sam`s game with her pressure. But on the clay Sam has more chances.
Anyway I think it will be a very interesting match. And I hope that will be two tough sets and win of Victoria
