one thing clear is that her Dubai withdrawal was genuinely due to injury. In fact it's more serious than any of us realised.

I see Cronin was having a go on twitter again after he asked her a dumb question

I just can't if Caro beats Vika again. Sick with a bum ankle or not, Vika's a superior player in every way.

More confidence people . I still reckon Vika will have this. Vika hasn't lost to a defensive player in a long time. She tends to have a very good game plan vs them.

Hmm. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but maybe it'd be Better if Vika did lose. I mean she's already I injured, and the more she's on court the worse it's going to get. Maybe a weeks break is exactly what she needs.

There's also the fact though, how bad is it? It didn't look completely unplayable, I'm sure she will want to play, this looks a good opportunity to bag another big title. Unless it's excruciating, I can't see her withdrawing.

@Nina There's no real news.

Ah well, it's really bad timing.
I really want her to beat Caro but I don't want her to make the injury worse Hope she's okay-ish.

Vika's injuries can't be *that* bad if she's out on a bike for recovery yesterday. It definitely leads you to believe she will play.

They might have chosen cycling for the minimal impact on her ankle, but it at least seems she's feeling more healthy and energetic. I think she'll play too

I have to agree she will play, otherwise it will look rather bad and you just know Cronin and Co will jump all over anything they can.

If Vika's not fully healthy she shouldn't play this one.

Maybe we should be more confident. Bicyclenka looks energetic today... anyway I think she will make an appropriate decision. Hope everything gose well.

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

Vika'll play and I have a feeling she'll play her best match of the tournament in this particular encounter (hopefully). I think she just probably needed to fight through her couple first matches, when the storm was stronger, and, as the tournament goes on, well, she'd feel better and better. It's certainly just the case, anyways we'll see with an eventual confirmation on court.

Génie - Victoria - Kristina.

Re: *Vika Azarenka Cheering Thread* - Vikalume 4.

I know health comes first, i just rather see her play(win or lose) than retire.

That beeing said i still think she can win this tournament. She actually hit the ball quite nicely, even if she hardly move between points.

Vika is practicing right now.

Or maybe not...

@BenRothenberg
Hearing multiple reports that Azarenka is struggling with her ankle in practice. Might we have zero women's matches today? #bnppo13
