Re: 2009 Schedule - next: Sydney

I was wondering if Vika was gonna pull out of Sydney with only having a one day gap between tournaments...
If she's definately playing, i'll have to make the trip up to Sydney!

Re: 2009 Schedule - next: AUS OPEN

tough, hmm
R128: Kvitova - definitely beatable. She lost 2 & 4 to Ivanovic in Brisbane, lost in two sets to Ivanovic last year in Zurich, lost to Bartoli in 3 in Linz, beat Schnyder towards the end of year, beat Vika on clay and Venus in Memphis earlier in 2008. Is in the final in Hobart, but I think Vika will take revenge.
R64: Garbin or Pavlyuchenkova - Pavlyuchenkova beat Kvitova in November (ITF) in a 3rd set tie-break. Hasn't been convincing in 2009 either. And Kvitova just beat Pavlyuchenkova in Hobart. I think Pavlyuchenkova will beat Garbin.

But the first couple of rounds are definitely the "young guns".
R32: Mauresmo (or Groenefeld) - Vika beat Mauresmo big time in the last tournament in 2008. Vika has started 2009 with the same strength and determination. Groenefeld can play well and then lose to a nobody. She is still a bit inconsistent, but definitely a threat if she plays well.
R16: S. Williams - Wasn't at all convincing in Sydney.
Do we dare:
QF: Radwanska or Kuznetsova - both beatable. Vika just beat Radwanska last year towards the end of the season
SF: Dementieva or V. Williams - tough, tough, tough, tough.

Tough draw for Vika and I hate the fact that she is in Serena's fourth round. I just hope she plays her best, I think it is her time!

Victoria Azarenka Venus Williams
Sloane Stephens Christina McHale

hmm Kvitova just won the final in Hobart. I must admit I am a bit nervous about the first round, but hopefully Vika can manage to get through.

Well, Kvitova should be more tired than Vika because she played the whole week so that's a good point for Vika

Re: 2009 Schedule - next: AUS OPEN

I really hope she will make it to the fourth round to meet Serena. Then I would like a really hard fought match with lots of power, but a good day of power, not an error-feast.
