Re: Fed Cup 2012 Day I - ALL PLAYERS (also juniors) SIGN IN

Rules and other details

General rules:

If a team does not have at least one player signed up by the deadline, they will be taken out of the competition. Teams from the lower levels will be promoted in ranking order.

Juniors are allowed to play Fed Cup, opening it up to more countries.

If more than 16 teams sign up, qualification for World Group II will be determined as follows:
a) nations (not continents) who have participated in the last four years
b) teams with the lowest sum of their two best ranked senior players. (If the team has a player without a senior ranking, the position below the worst-ranked player will be used to calculate the sum.)
c) if still tied, the sum of their junior ranks if applicable.

Players do not send points individually; one player, the captain, determines who plays singles and doubles, determines the surface the tie will be played on (for home captains), and sends points for all five matches. The captain is normally the highest-ranked player who has signed in by the Friday deadline, but if she does not want to captain she can nominate another player in her team to do the job.

Order of play:

Day 1:
Singles 1: Home #2 ranked player vs. Away #1 ranked player
Singles 2: Home #1 ranked player vs. Away #2 ranked player
Day 2:
Singles 3: Home #2 ranked player vs. Away #2 ranked player
Singles 4: Home #1 ranked player vs. Away #1 ranked player
Match 5: Doubles

Captains specify substitutions when they send their points, and repeated matches are not allowed. If the #1 ranked player only plays on day 1, for example, and is then substituted for day 2, the subsitute plays in match 4 even if she has a lower rank than the player in match 3.

Points to send:

As mentioned, the captain (bolded and underlined in the team list) sends points to me, split into three sets as usual. The captain may send points for each rubber or for each opponent depending on the tactics the captain wishes to employ. The points to split are different for each type of player in the team.
  • Senior players: Use the points to send on the surface as normal.
  • Junior players: If coached by a different manager than their senior, receives 90 points. If both the senior player and junior player of the same manager is represented, the junior receives 80 points. Players in italics in the team list are juniors.
  • CPU players: Players with no FWTT manager, used if only one player has signed in for the team. Receive 70 points.
  • Players who signed in late: (after surface announcement) May replace CPU players or juniors at captain's discretion, but receive only 70 points. The reason is that opposing captains have to know who they are playing and the strength of their opponent.

Three possibilities: a Malay team (with Singapore, maybe Thailand depending on Jookarae) or an all-Asian team, or a Malaysia-only team with a CPU player.

Jane Wong signs up and I think she will only be on reserve.

FWTT
-Oldest game in wtaboard, started in April 2000 even before wtaworld is born.
-You can create your own player, making their own name, making their personality.
-Some player has been playing for more than 10 years

Moldova is only Naaumy, I think. Sergheeva has junior points but is a CPU player.

Would work too, I suppose. It's up to the team-mates what to call the team, really.
