Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

ok so in this thread im going to post annas race ranking for each week, with the season 3 months in the race is a good indicator of where a player really is form wise. last week chak was in the 80's but with a 3r at IW shes risen. also tracking her race ranking we can see if her forms improving or not. people don't have to reply to this im just doing it for my own intrest.

march 23rd 2009 - 64, 182 points, 4 tournaments.
april 6th 2009 - 54, 262 points, 5 tournaments.
may 11th 2009 - 49, 373 points, 7 tournaments.
May 18 2009 - 45, 513 points, 8 tournaments.

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

It's been a disaster since New Haven last August. She only has about 4 match wins since then. That's one win every 2 months.

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

The only saving grace for Anna is that the ranking system rewards having a few really good tournaments more than consistently having one or two wins, so a couple of good tournaments would save her.

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

chaks race ranking falls 2 places this week due to inactivity.

she really needs to string some wins together, but shes playing all the big tournaments, so its gonna have to be beating good/very good players at the bigger tournaments.

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

She needs to play more. Wozniack just made the final of this dinkfest. Vesnina almost won the tournament.
Anna should be playing some of these mickey mouse tournaments, get some wins and confidence

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

I have to agree. She should have entered some of the smaller tournaments to try to get some momentum going. Then again, she did lose to Suarez Navarro in Hobart back in January.

Anna's record since 2008 New Haven (excluding Fed Cup) is 5-11.

Something under my bed is drooling

Re: Chakvetadze's Race Ranking

after a good week in rome where chak won back to back matches for the 1st time since august, chak's race ranking rises to 49.

49 isn't anything special but its going in the right direction.
