Anna was seeded 31 last year. So what's everyone's expectations for Anna?

Obviously, given her top 8 seeding and her performances in Oz and RG she needs to make the QFs. Question is, can she do it?

Anna Chakvetadze
Agnieszka Radwanska • Vera Zvonareva • Laura Robson • Donna Vekic • Heather Watson • Elina Svitolina • Melanie Oudin • Andrea Petkovic

Re: The green, green grass of Wimbledon 2007!

Semi-final

I'm hoping this is the breakthrough major for Anna.
By being seeded #8, does that mean Anna has to play either Maria or Justine in the quarters?

No, she can draw any of the seeds #1-4 in the quarters. All of them will be tough, but the best is still to draw Mauresmo's quarter.

I need to see the draw, and the draws have been kind to Anna so far this year.

Re: The green, green grass of Wimbledon 2007!

Wimbledon is now the only Slam where Anna hasn't been past the 3rd round. Considering her winning percentage on grass is actually pretty good she'd better rectify that this year.

Anna Chakvetadze
Agnieszka Radwanska • Vera Zvonareva • Laura Robson • Donna Vekic • Heather Watson • Elina Svitolina • Melanie Oudin • Andrea Petkovic

Yes that is true. Conversely Mauresmo is certainly thinking the same I would suspect.

Anna seems to play well on the grass so of course the goal will be to live up to her seed. I just hope she doesn't draw Venus early.

Re: The green, green grass of Wimbledon 2007!

The earliest that Anna can play Venus is 4th round, since seeds #1-8 draw #25-32 in the third round..

Draw's coming out tomorrow.

Re: The green, green grass of Wimbledon 2007!

3rd round Misa could cause some trouble, Bammer or Hingis are beatable, Anna has the game to beat Jankovic when at her best Good luck Anna
