Anna in Miami

Anna will be the #10 seed in Miami, a tougher field than IW.

Re: Anna in Miami

Good Luck Anyta

I’d like to take Roddick’s serve, Gonzales’s forehand… As well as Federer’s backhand and mental. Then I’d be world number 1, easy! No one could beat me.

Re: Anna in Miami

Anna needs to make the Round of 16 to provisionally overtake Dementieva in the Top 10. However with so many points on offer in Miami she could easily get overtaken herself by the likes of Serena Williams winning the thing. Also Daniela is now hot on her heels with not much to defend until Roland Garros.

I don't think the courts in Indian Wells suited her. They are apparently some of the slowest hardcourts, the ball certainly bounces very high. But the actual climate means the ball travels really fast through the air. Your timing has to be perfect or the ball goes flying long - hard to keep the errors down there.

Hopefully the Miami courts will be more to Anna's taste. I was hoping she would write a diary entry about her Indian Wells loss but nevermind.

Re: Anna in Miami

I'm missing the diary entry too!

but anyways, hope anna can get to at last the quarterfinal! the 5-8 seeds aren't that strong at all! so Anna can definitely get to the quarterfinal..

The Miami courts are some of the slowest hardcourts as well

Anna just needs to be more confident in her game, she didn't go for her shots enough against Peer, especially serving.

Re: Anna in Miami

Question for Anna experts.
What is the ideal surface for Anna?

fast/slow court
high/low bounce
indoor/outdoor
rebound ace (Aus open), deco turf (US open), clay, grass

But it's more humid in Miami so the ball doesn't fly as much if you know what I mean. I think it could help Anna keep her error count down.

I don't really know... She likes grass but I hope she will do well on clay because that's my favourite surface to watch
