I hate this draw. So many of my favorite players are in that quarter of the draw. Nastya, Tati, Elena L., Anna C. are all in that quarter.

I hope Anna can get to the third round but I can't root for her past that unless Nastya loses before then.

I think it is an awesome draw for Golovin. I'm not a fan so from a really objective point of view i think she should make 4th round even though her form hasn't been the best.

I like Anna's draw. It will depend on her form, if she plays as she did in Montreal & San Diego she can go deep as Anastasia isn't in her best form & of course Anna knows how to beat Nastya in NY But there is Bondarenko in there so if the LA Anna turns up she could go out early.

But Anna has been going great week, bad week, great week, bad week over the US Summer so let's hope that trend continues

Nastya has injured her foot hasn't she? I think her opening match against Azarenka could be very tricky. Of course I'd like to see her in a third round against Anna.

Golovin has a very nice section and I wouldn't be surprised to see her come through it. I think Nadia will have enough to beat a qualifier - it would be pretty bad for her to make another 1st round loss at a Slam.

I also want to see an Anna vs Alona rematch for some revenge. I'm glad Anna hasn't drawn a qualifier in the first round. I often think that's actually more difficult than facing a direct entrant.

Should be an easy first round against the American wildcard juniors Jamie Hampton and Ashley Weinhold. It gets much tougher after that but I think it would be good for them to aim for the third round and anything after that is a bonus.

That is a tough draw in doubles. Good first round. Then Camerin/Dulko they are a good team, they have played together 3 times for a semi, final and a title. Dulko is top 20 in doubles.

Anna gets to play on the last court. Really shouldn't be a difficult match unless her wrist is hurt more then we know.

I'm nitpicking here but it wasn't her wrist was it? It was a forearm strain from the inside of the elbow downwards - I think they call it golfer's elbow! But luckily it didn't seem too serious so she should be pretty much recovered (I hope ).

Anna should definitely win against Sucha but you never know what can happen in a Slam.
Question is, when will they get on court?

Yes you are nitpicking

I would say it is doubtful she gets to play today.

Agreed. Just hoping her match isn't rescheduled for when I'm at work.

Maybe I will.

Yeah I hope her match doesn't coincide with my only class tomorrow.
