Best Tennis: #1 Angelique Kerber vs. #26 Daria Kasatkina (Sydney R16)

A test match for the 2 players a week before the beginning of the first Slam of the year.

Daria, who remained on 2 defeats by having a match point against top 10 players, Pliskova in Wuhan and the last one last week against Muguruza in Brisbane, will have a new opportunity to end this pattern against top 10 players and start the the AO with this additional confidence that lacks her on big stage.

Kerber as have you said could use some matches Before defending her Australian Open's title.

The two players are part of the best returner of the tour so one of the keys to the match will be the ability to serve well and Kasatkina so far has shown difficulties under pressure. The other key points will be the ability to be aggressive on important points and there also benefit to Kerber for the moment.
We had seen this during their previous meeting and it will be interesting to see if Kasatkina will have learned the lesson and will finally be able to step up.

Eye Catcher: #6 Dominika Cibulkova vs. #49 Eugenie Bouchard

Bouchard just won her first match since september against Zhang. We never know what to expect with her, lately it was mostly the worst on and off court.

Cibulkova has big expectation after her season's end where she was finalist at Wuhan then won Linz and the YEC.
Despite her lost against Cornet , who won 3 of the 4 last meeting, she did a decent season's start winning against Zhang and Siegemund.
The 2 players like to dictate the point and stay on the baseline or inside so the first stroke (Serve/return) will be very important.

Bouchard leads 3-1 and on their last meeting, a peaking Bouchard eviscerated Pome 6-2 6-0 .
Great match previews! I love the idea of readers posting alternate previews and predictions.
