How could Bel won two G1s this year and how could she beat 3 top 400 WTA players this year if she was weaponless?
PS: Marcinkevica among them
I know and Anett beat Tamira PAszek, but that doesn't mean she is a better player
Diana was out of form, as was evident given how she plays now
And it is easy to win matches if you are weaponless: puddling How do you think Wozniacki won so many matches
Unless you call puddling a weapon

You said that Ostapenko has beaten Bencic "a lot of times in juniors". Once isn't "a lot of times", especially seeing as Bencic also won once.

If you think Bencic wins matches by "puddling" then once again, clearly you've never seen her play.

I have seen her play and she does win points by baseline rallying and doesn't hit winners
I just think Jelena is a better players and that Belinda is overranked, as except for a few plays like Indy de Vroome, I don't think that any of her wins have been particularly amazing and that her G1 titles were mainly easy wins. She had a few good wins there, but nowhere near as many as for example Konjuh
Anyway, this is Jelena's thread not Belinda's so I actually can say whatever I want about her here

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Remember that time when Jelena won that G1 only by winning 3-setters?
Well, here she won both matches in 3 sets History shall repeat

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

6-1 1-6 1-6 against Abanda

Jelena was impressive in the first set, but she played awfully in the last, despite some great winners at times. The stream was fucked up for most of the second set, but I guess she was bad there too, as Abanda wasn't impressive during the match.
She's very inconsistent, she's great now, then her game just falls apart, only to rise again. And I can tell, given her scorelines, that this happenes a lot to her.

The recorded stream is in the tournament webpage's archieve, if ye wanna' take a look.

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Such weird scorelines these last two matches Anyway, a really encouraging week. Bencic and Abanda are probably the two best 1997 girls...but it seems that Jelena is starting to move up to their calibre. Hopefully it starts showing on her ranking.

What about Ana
Anyway, never anything wrong with losing to Abanda I hope she performs well at the open
