Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Good win, Mikheeva was a tricky youngster playing at home.

It's gonna be Vikhlyantseva actually in R2. She thrashed (6)Shymanovich 1 & 3 in R1.

WTF? Shymanovich pressed for the title a few years ago... Who is this girl?

Jelena Ostapenko (LAT) d. Natalia Vikhlyantseva (RUS) 76(7) 46 62

Good hard-fought win over a player who took out Shymanovich. Doesn't get any easier now against Kalinina. I could even see the winner of that one winning the title. Shame it is a R3 match.

Natalia is quite a good player, she has a CHR of 51 and has a record of playing very tough matches against top-ranked players.

Contrarily to iPatty, I think (9)Kalinina in R3 will be way easier. She's been struggling badly at Roehampton and in R1 here, she found herself 2-6 0-3 nearly 0-4 in R1 against (WC)Harriet Dart before managing to turn it around.

I think Aljona will win this one.

I think she will win too but I don't think it will be that easy. A similar score as against Mikheeva Dart is underrated IMO

Right you were!

Jelena Ostapenko (LAT) d. (9)Anhelina Kalinina (UKR) 62 62

Into her second slam QF of the year. Will play the winner of Black and Boulter.

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Good beatdown!

QF vs. (3)Tornado Alicia Black (she thrashed Boulter 1 & 2 in R3 ). That's a great challenge.

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Won 1 and 3
I am so thrilled by how she is finally getting the results she deserved ages ago Playing like Top 300 Now take the Slam At least there is only a 50% chance rather than a 25% chance that we will see her in Final on Court 1 with a stream

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Impressive win again.

But she's not in the final already, she will have to beat the tough (12)Marketa Vondrousova in SF, who've also had an impressive run here so far.

I'd like Marketa to win , but GL to Aljona!

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

Started on serve, was broken, and then BOOM! 10 games in a row. Up 6-1 4-0* at the moment.

I'm supporting Vondrousova but I have to admit Aljona is really heads above everyone these days.
