Re: Estonian Tennis

Maybe Schutting is in the States? I think she was supposed to go there to study, though I'm not sure if she started in fall already or not.

Yes, Schutting was supposed to go to USA in January. To study psychology and play college tennis.

Re: Estonian Tennis

Last time there was a media report on her, she seemed to be training already (playing tennis). Hopefully she's not injured again or something. Fed Cup is soon

She plays doubles with Kontaveit, but no singles.

obviously practising for the Doubles in FedCup.

Kaia could win both her Singles matches and then it could come down to the Doubles as I can not see any other player beating Spain's first or second number for that matter.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.
Also Wozniacki, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Stosur, Gajdosova and K-Kookie!!

Re: Estonian Tennis

I'd say Estonia's best chance is if Kaia would win her 2 singles matches and then Maret would somehow beat Spanish #2 (probably Suarez Navarro or Parra Santonja). Doubles is definitely Spain's strongest link.

Well for Spain it depends who they will have playing it. Dominguez-Lino and Suarez Navarros lost pretty badly to Kanepi/Daniilidou

I'm afraid to even think about that. If Margit can prove she is fit in the 10k event in Tallinn then maybe she'll play those. Can't really see Kontaveit playing singles.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

Re: Estonian Tennis

Spanish team will be Martinez Sanchez, Suarez Navarro, Medina Garrigues and Llagostera Vives,

Probably MJMS and CSN for singles and Martinez/Llagostera for doubles (if it is 2-2)

Re: Estonian Tennis

I really hesitated to say Maret is our #2, I just tend to think she's a bit better than Anett K and Margit. But if not.. Anett could beat Margit indeed, but Margit is more experienced. Tough decision for the captain.

I guess Spain's doubles will be Nuria Llagostera Vives/Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Medina Garrigues is also pretty good in doubles, but she seems out of form for a while now.

Re: Estonian Tennis

Well the Doubles pairing should be obvious for Spanish team. Martinez Sanchez/Llagostera Vives are playing together anyways on WTA tour and pretty well also. They have had some odd losses last year though. Just depends on their preparation for this.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.
Also Wozniacki, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Stosur, Gajdosova and K-Kookie!!

you jinxed her. She has a slight injury now with her knees

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

Re: Estonian Tennis

Yeah, looking at the pic, it seems to be her left knee what's troubling her. If it doesn't get better, it might be Kaia and Margit in singles indeed.
