Truth. Originally you could not edit picks at all after you made them. This was changed when lots of top seeds would withdraw and people would end up with REALLY small totals for events. I made it that you can only change when seeds withdraw because if it were when anyone withdrew, there would be so many changes all the time.

It is INCREDIBLY time consuming to run this game (it would take about 6-7 hours a week depending on the size of the tournament, plus doing the total rankings), and it makes it more difficult everytime someone changes a pick. When I was running this game, I would pray every week that no seeds would withdraw so I wouldn't have to deal with going back in and changing everyone's picks who replaced.

Yes! I can imagine how much work is involved - the 128 player draws must be a nightmare... From what you said it seems the current rule is a pretty logical way to solve the problem you had before, definitely not stupid

If the rules were changed then players would be changing picks in most tournaments - it would make it tough. Maybe, if pick changes were more common, it would be possible to take nothing from this thread until the tournament begins and then go through the posts in reverse order to take everyone's most recent picks first so you don't need to go back in and change picks. I'm probably just talking rubbish though - I don't even understand how the points work

Anyways, you did a great job, as lenavee does now It is well appreciated, even though it may not always seem so.

Because of all this tormenting abuse being hurled at you?

I can see I've been outvoted so I'll drop it, but the rule sucks.

would it be easier fot the person running the tournament to post the points only at the end of the tournaments?
would it make it easier if we simply listed the players in each round and everyone would do it that way?
I just want to make it as easy as possible for the person running the game.
I would hate to see this game disappear.
Therefore i hereby volunteer to occasionally run the game.

I think the rules must stay as they are - we have players playing from all over the world and you cannot expect everyone to be present when someone pulls out of the tournament.

Äre 2007 Downhill and GS GOLD: Aksel LUND SVINDAL (NOR) WC overall champion for 2006/07 and 2008/09; winner of 2 crystal globes in GS and SC
Val d’Isère 2009 SC GOLD and Super-G BRONZE
Vancouver 2010: Super-G GOLD, downhill SILVER, GS bronze
Current crushes: Johannes STRATE Tom BATEMAN Éric BRUNEAU Greyston HOLT David MIESMER Raphaël LENGLET Richard RANKIN Tom LEEB
