Don't know how much time she spent in/near Andalucia, but Dinarik often speaks well of her youth experiences in Spain,so maybe she'll be happy there for this tourney

PARTY IN THE PANIC ROOM! Serena wins an undoubtedly clean #22

she and Marat trained in Valencia, if i remeber. Thats bit north-east from Andalusia. Marbella is far south of Spain, near the sea.

just realized there is 3 tourney in Spain this month. She won't have jetlag at last.

Yes,Norby,I knew that Marbella was near the sea;aside from the pictures that made that obvious,'Mar'-'Bella' means 'lovely(or beautiful) sea' in Spanish....I just couldn't remember where Dinarik had trained in her youth.

Has she already committed to playing Barcelona, too?I just assumed,of course, that she'd wanna play Madrid regardless of the fact that she enjoyed such a great triumph there before

Final round drawn tomorrow

Saturday also brings the draw for the final rounds of the tournament. It will be held in the ‘Village’ stand at the Club de Tenis Puente at 12.00 and will be attended by the director of the tournament, Conchita Martínez and players Dinara Safina and Aravane Rezai.

First training

Today we were able to see some of the players that have already arrived in Marbella getting some training done on the clay courts of the Club de Tenis Puente Romano. Two of the players that drew the most attention were France’s Aravane Rezai and Russia’s Dinara Safina. The latter had a double workout on the eve of the competition as she is keen to get back into the habit of playing on clay after her last appearances have all been on hard-court surfaces.
