Dinara has some nice wins this year. Hantuchova, Stosur, Dokic.
Its just the bagels in the losses, they have to go.
Dinara has to compete against Vera, hold serve most of the time.

Vera is going to be motivated for this. She had a bad loss at IW, after being very consistent

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!

IF she gets past Li'l Bepa,Dinara faces Groth next...against whom she's 3-0....Jarmila hadn't achieved any titles back in those days, but at least Dinarik is familiar with her and has a track record of success

Tbh,I don't ever wanna equate competitive defeats with victories;that's more appropriate for players like Mattek-Sands who'll never win a title and whose greatest career accomplishment is finding new kinds of animals to get tattooed on her ass(not counting Doubles).....Still,Dinarik was double-bageled in her last match vs. a Top 5 player,so I suppose this was decent progress, huh?

bruce, she beat Stosur, a top4 player.

well, stamina and serve. this 2 looks questionable right now.
we'll see what she can do on clay, Marbella and others.

Oops!!Sorry...maybe it's because I think of Stosur as a Top 5 player in name only and not in reality...maybe that's why I forgot that one.Still,I'd agree with you if you said the win was important for Dinarik's confidence

Signs of progress. A few too many DFs for my liking, and it doesn't seem from the scoreline like Vera was ever in serious danger in the last two sets (last set in particular), but progress nonetheless.

Not at all a bad loss.
Good performance by Dinara actually.
I think she should be positive with this and look for big wins on Clay.
Next up Marbella! International event,I think using a WC for an International event is a waste ,but anyway hope she makes it to the QFs/Semis,quality field there with the likes of Ivanovic,Azarenka and Pennetta.

Judging by your post, you didn't actually see the match,Howard, but I'd like to hear your input if you're able to download it within the next few days....Would especially appreciate your thoughts on Dinarik's overall serve...to see if it's honestly improving or stuck at a plateau

Thanks for the info,Norby...and,yeah,it's pretty laughable that Miami puts on airs as if they were the '5th Slam' when they don't even offer video access to fans who are willing to PAY for matches. You've got two multiple Slam finalists in Vera and Dinara so it's not as if no one had interest in the match.....Maybe Miami's directors think that putting on a fancy fashion show somehow legitimizes them or makes them equal to one of the traditional Slams.Well, they haven't convinced us cave-dwellers,have they?
