Re: Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha

In this round robin set - up, players are divided into two groups. And based on the rankings these are the scenario:

Group A:
rank # 1, 3

Group B:
rank #2, 4

5, 6, 7, 8 are drawn in random

If Dinara can be number 2 after Moscow, she 'll be in Group B while JJ and Serena will be in Group A.

Definitely! lets hope she plays patiently. In Moscow she had the mentality that every shot had to be a winner and guess what - ERROR! She got too emotional and i think she got off to the wrong start in moscow (albeit winning)3 sets against mauresmo, and because vera has a better game with lots of angles. So lets hope she practises on keeping her mouth schtum, less racket abuse and more focus on each point.

Re: Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha

Yup! this is her last tournament.

And I think its safe to say she will end as number two or three for this season no matter how far she goes in the Championships.

Re: Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha

She must learn to believe that she's the best out there.

JJ thinks that way and thats why she's winning even if she's tired and "injured".

Re: Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha

i know jj and ana are playing in Zurich. And Dinara does not play anything before YEC and neither does Serena. Can dinara be #2 going in to YEC? or someone else can take that spot before YEC? What does Dinara has to do to keep her #2 ranking going in YEC?

Elena Dementieva Dinara Safina Anna Chakvetadze Venus & Serena Williams

Marat Safin

Stanislas Wawrinka Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Philipp Kohlschreiber Tomas BerdychNikolay Davydenko

Re: Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha

Enchantrezz you speak the Truth i swear!
I think its hard to think you're the best when you've just got used to winning titles and now being the SECOND best player in the world now when you started out as 15, i think maybe she's going through a period of transition where her stickability in the top 3 is going to be tested, i wonder if she knew before the semis she is no.2 now. I think shes being patient and still thinks she has a lot to improve and she does. I want her to KNOW she is the best when she has the best game plan possible and i think its too soon. I think 2009 is the year for her.

She is safe at number two coming in YEC. dmentieva, ivanovic, and others cant surpass Serena or dinara in the ranking pts.

i know soo many questions. Does her ranking at 2 depend on her progressing well into the YEC if jj wins at zurich(which will be insane!)?

If serena is not playing zurich safinas ranking at 2 is safe unti YEC.
