Someone from Dinara's site forum translated the Russian part of the video.:
Q: You said, you were a spoiled girl while the match was going on. Why? Was it connected with the weather, were you tired or were you just not satisfied with yourself?
Dinara: I just can`t handle my emotions. You know, if you once let the emotions go you can`t stop it! You must have the power in your head to control all this. I began the game not so bad, but then I lost a couple of balls that was important to win, so I began to complain: it`s the strong wind or I can`t pull the ball to the court. At this level of competition it`s unacceptable!
Q: What exactly did you say to yourself?
D: I said the whole match everything was going bad...Of course at some moments I asked myself to think positive, that it was just one of many matches. After the 1st set my coach noticed, that I complained about the wind 12 times, he said that it`s better not to say this, `coz everybody see the situation. It seems, like I was playing against the wind, not with the ball! Certainly I had to play with the ball!!!Yes, the wind was blowing, so I had to move my legs more active, not to think how strong was the wind.
Q: And what about Serena's hit to your body?'
D: Well, I dropped shot badly, of course she wanted to win, so she hit to the body. It's not against the rules so I can get angry only with me, not with Serena! It's a normal playing situation.
Q: I guess, it was quite scary...
D: What had I be scared of?(smiling) I deserved it. You see, she's a professional. She hit to the place Serena was sure she'll win. If that ''winning'' goal was me, let it be so(smiling)
Q:Can you describe this playing year of yours?
D: To be honest, in the beginning of this year I was in a real big black hole, and sometimes I thought that I just couldn't get out... I lost my game. I had two coaches at that time and I said goodbye to one of them. It was the the best decision of my life, that I stayed with my present coach. He really helped me! He found my game, he was outliving everything with me. I cried so many tears but he didn't throw me, he didn`t send me with all my problems somewhere far away... I'm so grateful to him!
Q: (cant be heard)...
D: Yes, emotions help me, but only when they are positive! Of course if you always repeat that everything is bad you'll finally lay off! If you say, that everything is OK, you'll get out of the inconvenient situation. The same works on the court, if you say: *wind, wind, wind* in the end you`ll get the hurricane! But when you think: "Hear, the wind, but go, go, go! Work!" you begin thinking about what YOU have to do and forget about wind. This match showed, that I'm not ready for playing in the semi-final of US open. I must control my behavior on the court.
Q:Is the silver olympic medal the highest result for you?
D: I think, that the final of Great Slam is a big result too!Now I'm the different Dinara. I'm happy, that I overcame everything.
