Dinara Safina Oafette Cheering Thread!

Wow, Dinara just defeated 3rd seed Martina Sucha at Estoril 63 36 61!!!!

Her wild card is well-deserved...

Congrats Dinara!

She is like her brother. Quick start and bad temper on court . Hope she can make it to the top100 officially that season.

She is definitely not top 30 yet, but look at the draw of this tournament. Whom exactly she can't beat here? Montolio? Torrens-Valero? She just beat the third seed, right.. And take into account that unlike older Russian players, she hasn't had a time to become a headcase yet ( unless she was born a one, which can also be possibly the case, given the brother).. To tell you the truth, as far as I remember, the best tournament that Anna Kournikova ever won was an ITF Challenger (Midland?) whose draw was not worse than Estoril's one. And Anna was of Dinara's age back then, and not a headcase yet..

Well done Dinara!

Is she still training in Spain?

There are alot of enticing matchups among the Russian girls and women. Kournikova and Dementieva. Sharapova and Safina. And many more.

Maybe with the arrival of Safina and Sharapova, Russian women's tennis will finally be on the way up. I hope so.

Cat, Dinara is still training in Valencia.

She must have just switched sponsors too from Nike to Adidas. (Marat's influence perhaps?)
She was pictured playing in Adidas gear today.

Go to Estoril Open
You will see some of her photos.

Good luck next round Dinara!

I wonder why is she so late with starting making some noise on Tour? Masha is one year younger and she has already played Tier I..
