Nastya is gonna turn 19 soon (born Nov 30, 1997), she's from Kharkiv and is training at the Angie Academy in Puszczykowo.
She's improved nicely this year: she broke into the Top 500 for the first time in June (she reached a CHR of 477 in August, and she's currently ranked #521), she has reached 4 singles final so far and eventually snatched her first singles title thi summer (she has been playing pro tournaments consistently since August last year only) - 2 of them finals she reached last year and she lost both of them (lost her very first final in a 3rd set TB
), she lost a 3rd final last May, before eventually winning 10K Szczawno-Zdroj in June (she beat Helen Scholsen 6-3 4-6 6-4 on the final)!
She didn't have big results in juniors (she didn't win any U18 title in singles, and her CHR was 215 only), but actually played some promising matches (she lost close 3-setters to Blinky and Mihalikova in 2014, beat Lapko - in straights - and Zaja last year; beat Ozgen and played pretty close matches against Komardina, Linette, Dolonc, Lukas, Kulichkova, Burnett & Shinikova this year...), but yesterday she qualified for the MD of 25K Zawada with a 0-6 6-3 6-2 win over leftie 2nd seed Olga Fridman (10 months younger, junior CHR 12, WTA 358/CHR 231) in Q2 (she was seeded 10 in qualies, also thrashed former Top 200 player Ani Mijacika in Q1), and she's bagelled 5th seed Tamara Zidansek (same age, former junior CHR 16, WTA 229/CHR 184) in R1
She was down *2-5 in the 2nd set though, but is back to *4-5 - keep fighting!
