I think we may need a thread to discuss Danish tennis in general (non-juniors). Maria Jespersen is starting a pro career at the moment, and some others like Anna Signe Rasmussen and Malene Stripp, who are in their last junior seasons, have already tried their luck on the pro circuit a few times in 2012. And I guess there will others the next few years. Creating a new thread for each player might be a bit excessive.

This thread can also be used for Danish Fed Cup discussions now that Caro isn't playing on the team.

Danish Indoor Championships 2014, 28 Feb - 08 Mar

Top 8 seeds:
1 Karen Barbat
2 Karina I. Jacobsgaard
3 Mai Grage
4 Ulrikke Høyer
5 Emma Rønholt
6 Anna Signe Rasmussen
7 Emilie Elsvad
8 Malene Stripp

Notable players missing are Emilie Francati, Julie Noe, Martine Ditlev (who hasn't played in Denmark for more than a year) & Malou Ejdesgaard (and obviously Wozniancki). Karen has been in excellent form lately and is a huge favourite to win the title. Julie Noe seems to be playing a G1 junior ITF in Thailand instead. I have no idea what Emilie Francati is doing (she's not on the G1 Thailand acceptance list).

^ It certainly looks that way. Notice also that Malou's own club KB is hosting the tournament! I would at least expect her to play this tournament if any. I miss Malou...

Maria Jespersen is also missing on the acceptance list btw.
I'm looking forward to the main draw though. Mai Grage & Barbat could end up in the same half, which would be brutal. But we may also see "new" players having a great run now that Maria, Julie and Emilie aren't playing.

Ida
Cecilie Melsted seemed to have lost any form during the last couple of years. She was a women's finalist in the Danish Championships back in 2010 when she was 15 years old; this year she had to play qualification to get into the championships! And now it's the other way around: Emma Rønholt (seeded 4) is struggling with her form while Melsted seems to be on her way back! Strange. Women's tennis?
