But I'm quite impressed with Emilie's progression this year. She played her first ever Grade 3 tournament this summer, and her first Grade 2 tournament two months ago. And now she's been in the Orange Bowl MD and is certain to be in the Australian Open qualies! She started the year as #500 (ITF) or so (haven't checked). And now she's very close to top 100. Well done
In the Junior Orange Bowl (U12 and U14), Hannah Muller and Ida Emilie Krause are in the U12 and U14 draws, respectively.
For Hannah, she defeated Shir Bakshi of Israel, 62 60, in R1! Her R2 opponent is 9th seed, Natasha Subhash.
For Ida, she lost 06 06 to Kylie McKenzie. Tough draw. Kylie is a promising junior for the US.
Emilie Francati will be ranked somewhere like #110-120 when the 1995-girls are removed in the next ranking update. Her chances of getting to Roland Garros and Wimbledon are pretty good, particularly since she hasn't got much to defend until after Wimbledon.
It seems like Emilie will be playing a G1 in Australia prior to AO qualies. Btw: Emilie is #3 outside MD in AO, so a Grand slam main draw isn't too far away! GL in Australia!
