I think it will be ok because if she trains since Saturday it's almost one week so I'm 99,9% sure Nicole passed it

Re: 2007 Roland Garros!

The draw is done at 11:30am Paris time tomorrow.

Nicole will be drawn to face seeds 25-32 in 3R which would be Safarova, V. Williams, Stosur, Santangelo, Dulko, Vakulenko, Bremond, or Muller.

In 4R she will be face to drawn seeds 9-12 which would be Chakvetadze, Safina, Petrova, Hantuchova.

Not sure what to expect of Nicole since she hasn't played in a while and coming off of an injury. Nicole could lose early (or worse - retire in match) or be fresh and ready to go and make a run into 2nd week.

Re: 2007 Roland Garros!

Follow the draw live!

The draw for the French Open will take place at 11.30 am in the Tenniseum at Roland Garros. Fans the world over will be able to follow the event live on the official website simply by clicking on this link: the names of the players will appear as soon as they have been drawn, with the suspense building up as the draw progresses!

Click on this link

> Follow the draw live (from 11.30 am)

> Women's draw (from 12.15 am)

> Men's draw (from 12.45 am)

Seeds and qualifiers alike will be on tenterhooks, waiting to see what fate the draw has in store for them. Some mouth-watering ties are guaranteed as early the men's first round, and the draw will give Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal a clearer idea of what to expect during the opening week.

The top 32 players will be seeded, but outside of this group there are some real clay-court specialists, including Russia's Igor Andreev, local boy Paul-Henri Mathieu, Spain's Nicolas Almagro and Italy's Filipo Volandri, all of whom could be more than a match for anyone on this, their favourite surface.

In the women's draw, all eyes will be on the seeds, with Venus Williams possibly having to face a top 10 player as early as the third round. And what are the odds on her having to play her sister Serena...?

The French contingent will also be keeping a close eye on the draw for their home tournament, and with so many of them involved, some are bound to find themselves drawn against one of the favourites in the first round.

Chez les dames, on suivra surtout l'emplacement des têtes de série. Venus Williams pourrait par exemple affronter une "top 10" dès le troisième tour. Pourquoi pas sa soeur Serena...

Some of the possible 3rd round opponents are quite tough and may cause a lot of troubles (Safarova, Williams). Some are rather unpredictable (Santangelo, Stosur, Vakulenko). I would prefer Nicole drawing someone of the trio Dulko, Bremond and Muller. That should be ok (should she make it that far...).
As for the 4th round, Petrova is probably the toughest opponent, although her health is a concern.
I sincerely hope that Nicole, Lucie and Daniela will avoid each other.

Re: 2007 Roland Garros!

Call me a pessimist, but I'm still not convinced she's 100% healthy. Those nagging wrist injuries have a way of coming back at the worst possible time. I really do hope she's ready to compete at the highest level.

This article is about equal prize money for men and women at tournaments. I am sure you remember what Nicole said about it not so long ago. There was a thread in the GM I think. In this article she says some people twisted her words. She says she doesn't agree with equal prize money at Grand Slams because men play more sets so they should earn more money. What makes her disappointed is that at other tournaments where both men and women play best of three sets prize money isn't equal. So basically she says that at Slams where women don't deserve the same money they get it, but at other tournaments they earn less than men. She finds it very ironic.

I couldn't agree more with her. It's nice to see a female player with this opinion.

The first part of the article is about Lucie and her injury, which I guess doesn't need a translation because this is Nicole's forum.
The second summarizes Nicole's troubles with wrist. Kotyza says that both Nicole and Lucie were practicing on tennis grounds of Sparta Prague (accidently). According to him Nicole looked sharp and 100% fit. He adds that Nicole shouldn't have any problems to get back in form because she is mentally tough (another article that speaks about Nicole's mentality). He wouldn't like to see another Nicole vs. Lucie match unless it's a final. The main tournament favourites for him are Henin and Kuznetsova. Not Sharapova.
