Re: Katarina Srebotnik!

^^Calm down, I think it's not so serious. Due to shoulder injury she's going to rest for 1 more month and if the injury heals, she expects to come back for Wimbledon

Re: Katarina Srebotnik!

F**K!

Kata will know how she stands with the injury (if it's healed or if she will need more time to get back) when the French Open starts...

And about retiring she says that it crossed her mind, but she trys to avoid that thoughts...

If you guys are interested in the full article, i can translate it.

Kata please get well soon!!!

Re: Katarina Srebotnik!

Translated from delo.si (May 3rd 2009)

Kata falls from heaven to hell

Best Slovenian tennis player Katarina Srebotnik, will have to postone her return on tennis courts again, due to shoulder injury. She certainly won't play in Paris, maybe even not in Wimbledon.

Right after she missed the entire opening part of the season because of problems with her foot, the sand part will also pass without the best Slovenian tennis player Katarina Srebotnik, including the second one this year for grand slam, French Open. Her apperance in Wimbledon is also strongly questioned.

Because of pain in her right shoulder, which appeared already on first practices in April (when the leg injury, however, was healed), Katarina Srebotnik has decided to continue for a further review in Paris, the French specialist for this type of injury, who already healed her achilles. The examination revealed not only a minor irritation, but injury, which will - on behalf of the received injections - require a month of rest and a week full of grace, and then the next three weeks she will not have to burden her upper body.

"My comeback once again fell into the water, besides there is no guarantee that after one month it will be all ok and that i will practice normally. I really have this over the top of the head. I don't want to make plans no longer this year because I was already too disappointed. I always fall to the beginning, " Srebotnik began approaching despair because she was not faced with such problems so far. But as she had luck so far, she has bad luck now. She already postponed her comeback a few times this year,as planned the last time that she will return on the new large integrated tournament (WTA and ATP) in Madrid which starts next week. Of course, it is clear that this won't happen, also Strasbourg, where she last played a final, and also Roland Garros, where she reached one of the biggest wins in her career, winning over at that time 2nd player in the world Serena Williams in 3rd round. While French Open, Srebotnik awaits a check at the doctor in Paris, which will give the answer if the injury has healed, or if Kata will require additional rest ...

"I feel like i fell from heaven into hell. When I played my last match last year, I was on the top, in singles and doubles. Now I have to start building all over again. My rank will be greatly decreased, i rather don't think about where I'll be, "Srebotnik thinks, and is aware that some players after injuries quickly return on old positions, but in her opinion only the really best can make that, in which she doesn't count herself in.

Ex number 1 Maria Sharapova is also facing with shoulder injury quite a while now, played only two tournaments after last years Roland Garros, before she decide to go on a surgery. On that possibility Katarina Srebotnik does not want to even think about, because that would mean a sooner end of her career, also in this situation that kind of scenario is not possible so much. Srebotnik is 28 years old and lately her plans are falling down like dominoes.

"End? I'm trying to avoid that thoughts, but it's clear, that it crosses my mind sometime. But in this case i prefer to move my thoughts someplace else, because i'm not ready to end my career. However, this few months of torture is quite a shock for me," frustrated acknowledges Katarina who will now withdraw from Dubai and –practice to strengthen the lower part of the body – will also take some time for herself, and together with coach Biljana Veselinović will try to do everything to make up to Wimbledon, which begins on 22nd June. But regarding on this year outcome of the season it may all remain by wishes.

Re: Katarina Srebotnik!

In a short note on our national TV, she is in Paris these days, where she have visited the doctor again. Examinations proved that her shoulder is not remarkably better than at her last visit. She still hopes to play in Wimbledon, even though the chances to actually play there are slim
