Re: Flavia's ranking

670 points on outdoor hardcourt, 9 tournaments = 74 points average
540 points on clay, 6 tournament = 90 points average

Including Moscow in hardcourt tournaments gives:
780 points, 10 tournaments = 78 average

Clay still wins

What would you say if we could make
something amazing

Re: Flavia's ranking

yes, but there aren't tournaments where she made too few points...so we should make the avarage counting Bogota and Olympics to say two of them...
however it's important to see she made lots of points out of clay...and she could make many more points 'till crappy south amarica's tournaments...so...

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

Re: Flavia's ranking

sorry for the silly question...but why at the moment Flavia has more points on race to SEC than in normal ranking?
usually it's the opposite!

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

The race counts points from all the tournaments played in so far during the current year whereas the ranking counts the points from the slams, Miami, and the best 13 other tournaments over the past 52 weeks.

No way. She's about 700 points away, and she has quite a bit to defend for the rest of this year, it's just too far away.

Honestly, I don't think she belongs there either. She barely belongs in top20
It's time to officially take this back
She's been good lately, steady And she definitely deserves her top20 spot

Re: Flavia's ranking

She's almost sure to finish the year in the top15 anyway
Even if Azarenka passes her, Chakvetadze, Hantuchova and Bartoli have zero to virtually zero chance to gain points the rest of the season, and by simply taking off their YEC points from last year, they drop below Flavia.

(playing Quebec could save them, and I'm too lazy to check whether any of them will. I guess not)

What would you say if we could make
something amazing

Re: Flavia's ranking

20.10.2008 New Carrer High Rank!

14

And Flavia is 11th on the race
in the "normal" ranking Petrova has few point more...Anna C. 110 and 70 to defend this week...Schnyder 120 and she must defend 190 now!

Aga is too far at the moment, but next year...Aga QF AO, Fla 2nd AO

Flavia Pennetta (ITA) No.17 to No.14
New career high; jumps past previous career-high of No.15 after reaching second Tier II final of season at Zurich; no Italian woman has ever reached Top 10 (Farina Elia, Schiavone have been No.11).
go for it
