*Opening this thread now incase she flops R1 in RG so we can move on really quickly :sobbing:*

I don't know about that in general. But this is trolling. It's like when Na-Goat opens a Rome thread during the 2nd round of Madrid. Or when people open the result threads when the match is still not over. This almost inspired me to open a trolling thread myself, but it would be too much.

As of right now she will be the #7 seed at Eastbourne (Correct me if I'm wrong please)

She can jump to #6 if she reaches the quarters and Kirilenko falls a round earlier.

Vinci won't beat Serena  and unless Sam can repeat her performance from last year I think it will be between Ana and Kiri who would get the #10 after RG.

#9 is possible if there's a good run at Eastbourne and Wozniacki doesn't go far there. However the rankings after Eastbourne won't affect the Wimbledon seeding.

Ok people.. just bought myself some tickets to disneyworld. Seriously..

Maybe my travel mojo gets back to working and if Ana gets herself a wildcard into Sofia, she can work her magic again in the B champs. That's the week I'll be travelling.

As for grass.. well.. I just hope she avoids second hand embarrasment like today's and last years one against Vika.. :tape:

Disney+Universal+SeaWorld+TamAirlines+Alamo can totally thank Ana for the US$ 6.000 that I just spent. It was the post match funk that made me feel an urge to go to the happiest place on Earth. Unfortunately I only have holidays in november.. otherwise I'd be there tomorrow.

I hope she'll do good job in Eastborn and Wimbledon

Acceptable results would be: QF (or even SF with good draw) of Eastborn, and 4R (or even QF with good draw) at WB :yeah:

But it's Ana, so... :spit:

Ana's favourite part of the season has arrived :tears:.

No Birmingham or 's-Hertogenbosch because lets face it, these peasant tournaments are beneath the Great Top 20 player Ana Ivanovic. Anyway, even if she played, she would have tanked in the 1R to someone like Tamarine Tanasugarn because she's too focused on winning Wimbledon :rocker2:

She's not going to be seeded in Eastbourne so I'm guessing that's a 1R loss. Then she'll probably try to defend her 4R and SW16 and give a presser about making that next step prior to the match and then get bagelled by one of the Top 4 seeds there. Or lose in the 2R. Cos I guess that's what Top 20 players do. Ajde!! :cheer:

As of right now she's the #7 seed at Eastbourne.

If Bartoli wins or reaches at least the final in Birmingham, then she'll pass Ana. But she will be the #8 seed.

It depends on Marion too whether she'll be seeded 12 or 13 for Wimbledon and that can actually make a difference.

The only changes that can be made this week at RG (anyone that can possibly pass Ana for a Wimbledon seed) could be Stephens and Jankovic. But both are bound to lose to Sharapova, so no problem there for the most part.

EDIT: Bartoli is only 15 points away from Ana, so she probably just needs one or two wins in Birmingham :sobbing:

If she couldn't reach the QF here, it's not gonna happen on grass. The best hope is that she'll get a kind draw and defend the points from last year. Even that's a huge task, considering how much she struggled in each round last year.

Bartoli is in horrible form, her serve is a complete mess. She won't do much on grass with that serve. And the field is not that bad. Flipkens, Makarova, Ula, Paszek, Lisicki, Robson, Pironkova, Hampton, Lucic, Hantuchova, Keys, Mladenovic etc. etc. etc. So many players who can beat her before the final.

#36 ·
Well.. hopefully she doesn't make the final.

Being top 12 is very important in any case.. Ana really should've put more of an effort in Rome to get that top 12 seed at RG.. Its one thing to get Hampton or Mattek Sands in a 4th round, its a whole other to get Aga or Vika for an example.. at least for Ana who seems mentally blocked against every and all top 5 players.

As of right now:

Stephens
Cibulkova
Suarez Navarro
Flipkens
Pavlyuchenkova
Makarova
Cornet
Cirstea

The ideal scenario would be to get only grass inept players until the 4th round.. like Domigues Lino in 1st round, then the winner of Soler Espinosa and Catandu in the 2nd round, and then Cornet.

Eastbourne is warm-up tournament just week before Wimbledon slam, so Ana will give her best in 1st round no matter who is opponent, than in 2nd round I feel here be many complains because hers result, but 2-3 days latter we will forgive hers that "upset" when she will overshadow easily everyone else on Wimbledon's players party promoting newest Matthew Williamson dress.

Talking about Wimbledon result, lets hope for start that she will once again made hers home-work (like 6 times in last 7 slams) and reach R16 round. Only slam where we have right to ultimate request more is just finished for Ana on worst possible way. If she stays 9-12 seed it will be very helpful for eventual QF success (+ if escape Kvitova from R16). There is many cases that in late years some players suddenly start to play very well on this surface (for example Russians Dementieva, Zvonareva, Kirilenko...), and Ana at lest in hers "previous life" have some success there like juniors finalists or semifinalists on hers peak. Wish her best luck anyway...

Bartoli just pulled out of Birmingham, so unless there is a late WC or Stephens/JJ reach semis, Ana will get the top 12 seed for Wimbledon.

:cheer: :cheer: but Marion

Jankovic and Stephens better stay away :fiery:

Every seed 5-8 is beatable, but then again.. This Ana who were talking about taking her chances :sobbing:

Li, only played Ana once and despite winning it was a long time ago... Plus at someone just mentioned grass seems to have been her worst surface of a recent years.

Errani got golden setted last year, Kerber seems to be a fairly a comfortable opponent for Ana.

Kvitova despite being Shitra most of this season will be the most dangerous one IMO.

Apparently Li just accepted a wild-card to Eastbourne so unless any of the Top 3 decides to join her (not gonna happen) The seeds will be the following:

1. Agnieszka Radwasnka (POL)
2. Sara Errani (ITA)
3. Li Na (CHN)
4. Angelique Kerber (GER)
5. Petra Kvitova (CZE)
6. Caroline Wozniacki (DEN)
7. Maria Kirilenko (RUS)
8. Ana Ivanovic (SRB)

Kiri and Woz will swap places if Kiri beats Azarenka tomorrow.

I'm guessing we can thank Vinci for whoring MM's by playing Den Bosch and not Eastbourne :spit:

Also, Ana has the Pre-Wimbledon party to attend on Friday so a tank is probably expected :wavey:

Not exactly hopeful for the grass but hoping she makes at least the QF :)

Eastbourne will be counting for next year Wimbledon, and Ana will play competitive match only in 1st round. More interesting for Ana #12 seed status is eventual late WC's at Birmingham or Nurnberg.

Ana has some chances to stay top 12 before Wimbledon, since Jankovic has to defend 200 points from Birmingham final and apparently she still did not enter or asked for WC, Bartoli withdrawn, while Vinci who is currently #11 has to defend QF from Birmingham. I haven't seen any of 10-16 players except Vinci in Birmingham entry list.

Obviously, I am hoping for kind draw at Eastbourne for Ana. :)
Vinci don't need to defend Birmingham to stay ahead Ana for Wimbledon draw, and if Jankovic lose tomorrow, she or Petrova or Stosur have chance to overtake her if gets late WC for next week event. We need to wait day or two to see what will happen.

It sounds almost unbelieavable, but the WTA top 4 name that from now on I don't want to see in Ana's draw is: Agnieszka Radwanska - at least for one year till Ana improves more (and she has to). There is something in that girl's game that makes Ana nervous all the time. Serena/Maria/Victoria, but not Agnieszka please.

Like I wrote earlier, US open series is where I expect from Ana to step up on another level, since it's official that the fast courts are the best surface for her current game. As of grass, just make it decent and it will be Ok. :)

I agree that it better to receive a trashing from the Top 3 compared to Agatha. But did you even watch the Wimbledon 4R and USO QF matches against Azarenka and Serena?

At least against Shitwanska, Ana is able to win more games AND still have the probability of winning somehow

:hearts: :worship:

Are QFs played before friday?
Yes they are. The Eastbourne semi-finals are played on Friday, same day of the party.
