Ana's end of the year thread (2012 Asia and Indoor)

Ok.. So Ana's schedule until the end of the season is so far:

Tokyo
Beijing
Moscow

Feel free to comment.

Then Fed Cuo (if that counts)

Hope Ana adds a MM to her schedule.

Yes.. I'm hoping she asks for a WC to Seoul.

Re: Ana's end of the year thread (2012 Asia and Indoor)

I'm hoping Ana has a good end of the year.. lets see..

She has 125 points to defend in Tokyo, 225 in Beijing and then the 375 from Bali that expire the week of Moscow. Its a lot, so she needs to get going.

She played ok during the USO, but the service percentage was abysmal. Hoping that improves in the next few tournaments somehow.

Re: Ana's end of the year thread (2012 Asia and Indoor)

Ana's web has already added Moscow to her tournament schedule.

I was so hoping for Seoul, but I guess not.. She will go the whole year without a single international tournament. I wonder if Ana is the only one in the top 20 to do so.. but I think Sharapova and Serena havent played one either.. #deludedschedule

Well this looks like a great schedule, the last time she played in Moscow since 2008....wow.

I'm glad she plays Moscow but I would want her to play Linz or/and Seoul as well.

I totally forgot that she used to play in Moscow before, now I remember that loss to Cibulkova.
She will add Linz, I think.

She doesn't try to make it easy for herself, that's for sure. Well, if she aims to get to top 10 she cannot rely on points from internationals, though.

It'd be great to see Ana do very well at at least one of the remaining events.

Re: Ana's end of the year thread (2012 Asia and Indoor)

I still can't believe Ana is going to go an entire year without playing a single international tournament.. Its not like she is a top 5 player.

Anyway.. its going to be interesting to see how she does in the remaining tournaments. Everytime it seemed she was playing better and we could hope, she came up with really underwhelming results. Only 3 QFs in 15 tournaments played. Hopefully she can finally deliver on her promisse after a good run at the USO.

I also hope to see some better serving..

I can sense big results in Asia, she especially likes playing in Beijing.

Points won on slams this season.

1. Azarenka 4580

1. Sharapova 4580

3. Serena 4285

4. Errani 2960

5. Petra 2560

6. Aga 2340

7. Kerber 2060

8. Sam 1550

9. Ana 1220

10. Makiri 920

11. Bartoli 860

12. Vinci 765

13. Woz 670

14. Kanepi 600

the best slam season after 2008 by far. If it wasn't for that loss to errani...

Yes.. definitely best slam season since 08. Half of Ana's points come from slams. If it wasn't for that horrid loss to Errani, it might even have been actually good.

If Ana keeps making 4th rounds regularly, she will get good draws to make more QFs and even SFs.. To make the next step in level of play she needs to do more herself though, in all areas.

It could have been so much better Ana's loss to Sara had a huge impact on the top ten this year imo, who knew it was such a crucial match back then?

Re: Ana's end of the year thread (2012 Asia and Indoor)

The loss to Errani sounds like the worst thing ever, but...

Let me see... Zheng, Coin, Kleybanova (twice), Dulko, Peer, Bondarenko, Makarova, Larsson.

Yes, I remember some worse years. And, except for Cetkovska and Barthel, Ana's losses were to girls who reached top 20 at some point this season. No losses to absolute nobodies this season. We need a good off season now and Ana will probably be ready for the next step - QF of AO and a clay season to remember.

Wake up, our beloved beautiful idiot. The better things are coming.
