Devastated for Sabine, but she didn't perform well cause of the nerves

Congrats, Marion

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

Bartoli is one of the hardest workers in womans tennis. And she shows there is hope for anyone who works really hard and is totally commited. She definitely took the chance when the draw opened up.

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

marion's run to the final may have been the easiest ever but i am fine with her winning since a) i expected her to beat sabine easily and b) the media was hyping up sabine too much. i don't hold it against her personally but when you have austrian national broadcaster put this picture as the title of the final report you know it's too much:

the name of the jpg contains "lisicki dissappointed". how about putting a picture of marion smiling and naming the picture "bartoli delighted"

and i certainly don't think sabine beating marion would have "saved wta"

I totally agree. It is not her fault that Serena, Maria and others from top played beyond their ususal level. Most of others players would not use this opportunity because of lack of commitment. Marion was focused from the beginning to the end more than anyone else and deserved the title!

Absolutely. I've never seen him play such stupid tennis. Ok, his serve let him down, but everything else was poor choice, game plan, shot selection...

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

Nole

Murray should send him some flowers, Nole just keeps giving him slams (also the pass to the Olympics final to face a tired Federer)

Congrats to Andy though. Finally winning Wimbledon and having won the Olympics (in London).. Can't imagine how happy he must be right now.

Never liked him, probably never will.. But credit is due where credit is due

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

Sharapova has split with her coach Tomas Hogstead. And says she will be announcing a new coach the next few days.

Ana take note. Once you sack a coach, you get another one quick!

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

Am I the only one who feels that Ana will surprise us all in Carlsbad and reach deep stage of the tournament or perhaps even win it?

Not trolling, just optimistic.

However, I am becoming really nervous bcs of all this drama waiting to find out who is in the new team...
