Don't forget that for the first time Li Na reached GS SF and WTA TOP10 at 28 and first GS title at 29! And very similar cases we have with Stosur or Schiavone (first GS SF and TOP10 rankings also reached after 25) - but all of them after so many years ranked between #11-#20 finally shows theirs full potential AFTER-25 and reach couple GS finals (with titles)!

I will never gave up of Ana till 2017 2020! Hers talent is so obvious, and without W-Sisters (Belgians already gone) WTA tour will be even more weaker!

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

If only she wants it. I dunno if she is wanting it at the moment. I dont think she wants to work as hard as everyone else. Its takes dedication and mental to get into trying to win a GS mode. But i dunno i just hope that she finds a way to get back into her formal level. But that is also asking too much.

Ana right now doesn't seem to have the enough physical energy to be considered in the right path.

I think Vika will use all of the hate she's getting to fire herself up and win. I cannot explain to you guys how negatively Australia has reacted to her, it's a bit OTT to me. They've never liked her and I think this is just the perfect excuse for most people in the media to spread the hate. I'm not a fan of Vika but sometimes people in my country are too ignorant, I hope she shuts them up tonight

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

Ugh. I am so gutted for Li She was so unlucky today. I mean, how many times can you get injured in a match. Just ridiculous. Haven't been this upset over a non-Ana result for ages

It was as if the Tennis Gods just wanted Vika to win. I am so pressed right now .. I can't believe she's a two time Slam champion.

Ana, learn something from Azarenka. Her assets are what you need most, she is the hardest worker I've ever seen. That's why she's achieved now more than you.

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

I've come to admire Vika. To let go of every outside thing to focus on the match and in her game takes a lot of mental skill. That's what set champions apart. I'm sure she will win a lot more slams.

Mental Strength is an underrated ability, it sets champions apart

Making mistakes is human, repeating them is dumb.

What I write is my opinion, and my opinion only.

I am rather proud of Ana for having won her slam the clean way and without the said 'assets'. Li's injury played the crucial role in today's match.

Re: anapolis general tennis discussion thread

I'm Aga's big fan, but part of me wants Kvitty to win, just so that Ana could see how it should be done. I know that Ana's and Petra's games are not similar, but game plan should be similar. Hit the fucking ball. Trying to rally with Aga, to outsmart her, that's bs. Watch this, Ana. You can only overpower her and nothing else.
