AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

Re: Australian Open 2009: AUSSE nirvANA

Last year she won 2 matches and lost 3 before she played AO.
Now also 2 wins, but only 1 loss.
You can always find a way to be positive

1. Ana Ivanovic

2. Maria Kirilenko
3. Anastasija Sevastova

Stop Crying!

Here is unbiased AO/09 winner odds from worlds most prestigious bookmaker:

William Hill WTA AO/09 Winner odds:
3.50 Serena Williams
4.50 Venus Williams
7.00 Jelena Jankovic
8.00 Ana Ivanovic
11.0 Dinara Safina
15.0 Elena Dementieva
...others...over 20

This not means nothing of course (remember what happen last season with Ana at USO, with Maria at Wimbledon, with Serena at RG, with Henin at AO...), but fact is that Ana coming at upcoming Australian Open like TOP5 title contender for sure - so no reasons for panic and defeatism here (like we already after that stupid Mickey Mouse Brisbane episode) even before draw is relased.

According to Ana 2008 Sydney, Indian Wells and of course Melbourne results, new plexicushion surface very suits to Ana's game.

Well, maybe it will be for the best.. At least you got us to a better start than the Hongkong beginning of last year.
And last year all real tournament threads were by Dexter until you started Miami so...
For whatever its worth, the 2008 results of thread starters were:
(.800) 16-4 Dexter - Sydney, Australian Open, Doha(tier2), Dubai, Indian Wells (4 unofficial wins in FedCup thread)
(.769) 10-3 azdaja - Berlin, Rome, Roland Garros, Tokyo
(.600) 6-4 Ivanovic Fan!!! - Moscow, Zurich, Linz, Doha(YEC)
(.571) 4-3 DownTheLine21 - Wimbledon, Montreal, Olympics, US Open
(.500) 2-2 Audio - Miami, Beijing
(.000) 0-2 jonnyroyale_13 - HongKong (at least they were stupid exo losses)

Cp6uja last did the 2007 USO hardcourts thread: winner at Los Angeles, bad loss in Toronto, then good run at the USO.
He's due...and seems extra confident

That's all you had to say

I'm off to a bad start, I started the Brisbane thread in the Kirilenko forum and she got sick before her first match and withdrew

Ana had a conference call last night in Australia:

Mental Strength is an underrated ability, it sets champions apart

Making mistakes is human, repeating them is dumb.

What I write is my opinion, and my opinion only.

Lucky you! Last week we had -19C and I had to go (means walk) to school! I feared that if I stopped moving I might freeze at the place

Oh, and please lets Azdaja

Re: Australian Open 2009: AUSSE nirvANA

There is a more complete article about Ana's conference call in Tennis Week!

http://www.tennisweek.com/news/fulls...newsid=6625123

It seems that she is looking to hire a full time coach! Good Ana, good!
