Ana's New Racquet??

According to Yonex, their new RQiS Tour 1 XL will be used by Ana! Is that true?

Waiting for Ana Ivanovic to just retire already .
Justine Henin. Amelie Mauresmo. Francesca Schiavone.

Yep!

From Ana's new diary:

Talking of rackets, I have a new one! Yonex have made a slightly lighter racket for me, which helps because I can get a little more head speed. It’s a new design too, which I really like.

Re: Ana's New Racquet??

By the way.. has anyone ever played with Ana's racquet? I bought a racquet a while ago, and almost took the RQiS Tour I, but thought it was way too heavy for me. I usually feel pain in my arm with these heavy racquets, but of course I can't compare myself with any pro, and they usually have very head heavy racquets for more control.

She seemed to have asked Yonex for a lighter racquet now though..

WOW! It looks like it has really bright colors!

Looks Ok to me and if it elevates Ana's game back up I'm perfectly fine with it

edit:

Not necessarily. She will be able to have a faster movement of the head of the racquet generating more acceleration on the ball. She can also feel the ball better and reach it faster, as she will be able to generate more head speed. Lighter racquets are also good for more maneuverability.

We will have to wait and see though.. how it affects Ana's game. She has been practicing with it, so hopefully it will only help her to play better.

It's a new version of it. It seems from the especifications that the only difference is the weight. The new racquet is 25 g lighter.

It seems they are already selling it in Japan. I wanted to know the balance of this racquet. The older version was very heavy, but head light, meaning Ana had to generate all the power. This one is lighter.. but is it head heavier? or still head light?

use Ana's racket. The red and black one. It's actually pretty light, maybe the one you got was a different one. like it a lot and it gives me a lot of control. But also put the the tension at like 63. I would recommend it, also it allows you to swing more freely.

Thanks for answering me!

Well.. I don't know.. I didn't demo the racquet. They didn't have it to test at the store, so I just took a look at the especifications, and it weights 337 g strung (11.9 oz), which is a bit heavy for me. I was just looking at tennis warehouse web and they have a light version of the same racquet (red and black), the weight is 312g (11 oz), and 6 pt head light. Which one do you have?

I've played with heavy racquets such as Babolat Aero Storm Tour and Wilson K-Factor K-six One Tour, both great racquets. But while I felt it was nice to hit with and it offered me good control and power, afterwards I felt pain in my arm and didn't feel as confortable.

I prefer the lighter racquets. I like Wilson K Factor K Tour. Its weight is 301 g (10.6 oz). I bought a Prince Ozone Seven a while ago, and I like it. The weight is the same of the Wilson racquet I used to play, but with a larger head size. I just find it so easy and confortable to play with. But I've always wanted to test a Yonex, I've never played with one. And I had this curiosity about how it would feel like to play with Ana's racquet. So, with what your are telling me, I guess I'll try to demo it. If I like it, I'll definitely buy it.
