Re: FedCup.

Well, Ana just announced on Facebook that she is withdrawing from this weekend's Fed Cup tie.

I'm sorry to announce that I'm withdrawing from this weekend's Fed Cup tie. I hurt my shoulder in Melbourne and it's not yet fully recovered. I really hoped my physiotherapy was going to solve the problem sooner. It's really a shame, because I don't get many opportunities to play in Serbia.

I'll continue my recovery and try to get fit as quickly as possible.
Wise decision. She will be replaced by Ivana Jorovic, according to Vranes.

Re: FedCup.

Smart decision, JJ&Ana. But I'm really concerned. This season has barely begun and they are both injured.

I thought that Dolonts or Alex would play. Ivana is practically a junior.

They would be crazy to play Ivana. I don't know whether she is being called to the team or whether she is going to play in Ana's stead. The two singles players should be Jovanovski and Dolonc, Krunic in doubles. Ugh, I so don't want Serbia losing to Slovakia and Pome-Face This is a mammoth task for them.

Not surprised she's getting hurt! Frail as she is, the wind poses an injury hazard!

Vera Zvonareva * Ana Ivanović * Li Na * Laura Robson ......

Sean

All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wonder are lost. The old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring. Renewed shall be blade that was broken. The crownless again shall be king

Re: FedCup.

So, another one of her phantom injuries. If she hurt her shoulder in Oz, why did she play Pattaya?
I'm sorry, but this is complete lack of professionalism. Now they'll most likely catch her on some beach with a member of Nole's entourage. She won't make another two seasons if things continue like this.

Re: FedCup.

If she's not willing to train or heal injuries, I don't care if she spends her time with mom, brother or boyfriend. Last year she didn't have a boyfriend, but she had so many random vacations before big tournaments. Before RG, Wimbledon, Olympics... She's not a committed player.

I have no words for that decision to play in Pattaya, I said enough about it, but now when we learned that she's been injured for weeks, I can only say that it's official that she'll never come back and she'll possibly retire in the next two years, like fANAtic says. If you play some meaningless MM event with an injury that could affect the rest of your season, it means you don't care about your career.

Re: FedCup.

It makes no sense. Why play a MM tournament if your shoulder really is bothering you that much? If she does play in Doha,I can't imagine how much the Serbian press is going to dump on her.

Maybe she was hoping to finally win a title and this was a tournament with a favourable draw. Anyway, she shouldn't have gone there, probably that only made the injury even worse.
I'm not very hopeful for Doha&Dubai, she's hardly going to be ready for those events.
